Chapter 164 Good Parents
- I thought back to my past life. My parents had tried to warn me, too. They said not to take love so seriously, not to let it control me. They told me that if Shawn wanted a divorce, I should let him go. But back then, I was stubborn. I believed he would come around. That he'd change his mind. I refused to let go.
- Now, things were different. I'd finally come around to my folks' way of thinking. With their support, I felt stronger. Like I could take on the world's flaws.
- "Alright, Dad, Mom, sorry for making you two worry so much and coming all the way out here," I said, forcing a smile to ease their concern. "Don't worry. I haven't lost my mind. I've thought this through carefully. This isn't some rash decision, and I'm not trying to use a divorce to get back at anyone."
