Chapter 1

  • "Widen your senses and don't ever slack! As a single second would mean a lot!" A middle age man with imposing aura reiterated his order towards his subordinates.
  • They are in a huge flying ship overseeing a magnificent and mysterious mountain.
  • And they seem to be waiting for something.
  • "Sir! Yes! Sir!" The hundred subordinates, all wearing a military uniform, answered in unison. Then they focused their spiritual senses towards their disignated areas within the mountain.
  • But deep inside, everyone are already complaining, "This should be a much an easier task if we only knew the exact time and place as to when and where that d*mn hole will appear."
  • They had been here for five days now and was never allowed to take a break, much more a nap.
  • Though they are all cultivators and can stand a year without foods and sleep but their current task is simply looking and waiting for something that no one knows when will it come.
  • This simple task is killing this hot blooded warriors into boredom.
  • "I know what everyone are feeling and I understand as I am the same. But this is a once in lifetime task. So we can't afford to fail." The middle age man tried to comfort, after all, just like what he said he was also bored to death.
  • "Sir! Yes! Sir!" The soldiers answered in unison yet again.
  • But this time one of the youngest among them can't keep his mouth shut. "Ah! Um!... Gen... General Lim, how many..."
  • "What?" General Lim look at the young soldier and asked when he saw the other party was timidly unsure if he would continue his inquiry.
  • "Uh! Well, General Lim, how many of the Generation of Fate would you think will able to make it this time?" The young soldier braved himself and asked.
  • If it were in normal time, General Lim would either scolded or ignored the young subordinate of his.
  • But this is by no means a normal time and everyone needed an ice breaker. A simple talk might help a little.
  • So, the general lowered himself and answered, "Record per se, on average only twenty five percent of the total participants manage make it. This time, we are expecting the same..."
  • "...So five hundred is the anticipated number." General Lim finished after a brief pause.
  • "Five... five hundred only? Thus... thus mean that the one thousand five hundred other participants are expected to... fail? Isn't that too low?" The young soldier cried in surprise.
  • The general simply nodded his said.
  • "Was... Was it worth it? Those sects and families feeded those youngsters everything they had just for this two to three months of harvest time and the chances of success is but twenty five percent?"
  • But before the general could give the young soldier an answer, another soldier suddenly exclaimed.
  • ...
  • In the meantime, in an independent space.
  • Hundreds of youngsters are now strategizing as to how to survive their remaining days in this place.
  • Some contented fellows found a hidden cave or dig a hole to hide as they waited for the opening.
  • Some who feels that they are still shorthanded are now running from places to places trying to find something that could be useful to them in the future.
  • But some cunning and evil minded individuals form a group among themselves and now hunting their fellow participants to rob.
  • This independent space is called The Land of Nature. An space created by a cultivator three thousand years ago as gift for humankind when he ascended to immortality. This cultivator use his remaining time before ascending to create this space that depicts the Earth's prehistoric era.
  • That cultivator had long expected that by the passing of time, the nature energy and natural resourses would no way but decline. So is the reason for such a gift, but not without restriction.
  • The space is not open for human inhabitation and it will only be open for human to explore for two to three months after every 100 years. This period was later called as the 'Harvest Time.'
  • Two thousand 'lucky' youngters, known as Generation of Fate, would be allowed to enter in this space every century. There, they will fight and tries to collect every natural resources they could have. Such as precious stones, beast's core energy or mystical herbs and fruits that are all good for cultivation.
  • After such, those who will manage to last the 'Harvest Time' will be drawn back to earth carrying with them all those treasures.
  • But this 'Harvest Time' is by no means an easy task. Rather, it is a risky adventure where most of the participants would lost their lives just fighting for those treasures.
  • This time participants could vaguely feel that this Harvest Time are almost at its end.
  • So most of them is now trying to maximize this once in a lifetime opportunity while others are making sure they would be able to come out of this place safe and sound.
  • But one specific fellow are now standing at this space highest point. He was overlooking at those busy participants but seems unbothered by what this participants are graving for.
  • He seems to be in his late teens just like the other participants. But his demeanor seems otherwise. From the way he stands, if one where not to look at his face, they will definitely think that is a man who experienced hundreds of life and death struggles.
  • With his fully blooded clothes, he anxiously looks around. Uncertainty is all over his handsome face.
  • But his anxiousness does come with a great reason, he was not suppose to be here. And his mere presence is totally against the very rules the creator of this space had set.
  • Thus, unlike everyone else, Redd Wayne was totally unsure what future brings when this 'Harvest Time' is over.
  • Will he finally be able to return to earth or will his body turns again into stone just like what he was for the last 100 years?
