• “Thank you,” he said with a smile, or rather, a wide grin as he took the tray from her.
• Lisa though read more to it than that. She read more to every action of his now, especially after he made that shocking confession to her a few hours ago. The biggest problem was not the confession itself, but her inability to respond. When he had first told her, she had not known what to say. That was how shocked she was. As a result, he had done all the talking which of course gave him the confidence to keep smiling at her. If she had scolded him, he would have known that she did not appreciate such a confession and he would not be smiling at her now. But how could she have scolded him? Words had failed her back then and they still failed her now.
