Chapter 1

• On a rainy day in August, drizzle moisturized a mountain town and washed clean the stone street with a refreshing earthy smell in the air.
• The workers Inside the city Q's small law firm known as Serenity Law Firm was walking helter-skelter around the whole office. Some were holding bundle of files, while the rest of the people were either going to their respective office or moving out.
• A knock on the door made Nicole Chapman drop the files she was attending on her computer. She looked up at the door.
• “Who is it, please come in..” she murmured, her gaze still focused on the door.
• A blonde lady walked in, neatly dressed in a purple gown. Her hair, long yet slim, was packed in a ponytail, and her green eyes was captivating.
• After getting the response, she came in front of Nicole and dropped a cup of hot coffee.
• “Your usual evening coffee Nicole...,,” she said.
• “Ooh sure. Thanks Alexander. You can leave now..” Nicole said as Alexander left immediately. Nicole began to sip the coffee as she continue attending to her work in the computer.
• An hour later..
• “ Hey Nicole please help....someone is trying to molest me and take advantage of me. Please hurry up, I'm at La Beauté hotel room 266.”
• Nicole answered a phone call and it was the restless voice of her younger sister. She quickly dropped the files she was attending to and rushed out of her small law firm office.
• Her colleagues who saw her hurrying out stopped what they were doing and looked up, inquiring where she was heading to since there were still so much work and even some important files she needed to attend to. Yet as if none of them exist to her, Nicole went away.
• The city of Q was always busy, hence it was hard for her to find a public bus. While waiting for one to come around, she tried to dial Amelia's number again.
• “Dip.. Dip... Dip the number you're calling is currently switch off...try again later or rather drop a voice note. Thanks.” The service provider told her as anxiousness grew within her. What could have happened to her younger sister Amelia??
• Nicole always knew Amelia to be the type of person who was capable of taking care of herself in times of trouble, but calling her even in a panic state must have meant that Amelia was really in a big trouble, one that she could not handle.
• Earlier that day, Amelia had called Nicole to inform her that she was going to celebrate her victory over winning a local beauty pageant competition held in a small town close to city Q with her friends, which Nicole had given her consent without thinking twice about it. Should anything bad happen to Amelia, Nicole knew she would be held accountable by her father and stepmom who was Amelia's mother. So she had to do anything within her power to protect her sister.
• Since Amelia had gone with her friends to celebrate her beauty Pageant's victory, surely Katya must be with her. Katya was Amelia's best friend, the two of them were so close that they went everywhere together, so it was Impossible for Katya to not be there with her. They were two jolly friends.
• “I Should call Katya and ask about Amelia...Surely she must know what is wrong with my sister.” Nicole muttered as she tried dialing the latter's number.
• “Sorry but the number you're trying to dial is currently not reachable...try again later or rather drop a voice note. We shall notify the call when they're available. Thank you!” the service provider told her again as a hiss left her lips.
• “Scumbag,” she said and scratched her forehead as disappointment showed all over her face. “Why won't this bus arrive on time...I need to save Amelia...”
• “Miss, Is something wrong? You're very pretty, I should give you a lift. I don't mind you spend the night with me, I will do you well. How about five thousand bucks for a night ....” A black MPV drove and stopped in front of her.
• When Nicole listened to the voice of the person in the car, she glanced at the car and noticed it was an old man..so old that you could say he was the same age as her late grandfather.
• It was people like him that was terrorizing the city. How could an old man like him want to spend the night with someone who was of the same age as his daughter? What nonsense!
• “Pervert! Get lost. I don't need your stupid money. Do I look like I cannot take care of myself. Just leave from here and don't make things any harder for me...” Nicole screamed as the man muttered some insulting words and drove away.
• Nicole was on the venge of giving up when the city Q's public bus finally drove and stopped in front of her. She Instantly rushed inside before the bus could leave again. Since not all the people in Q city was wealthy but rather middle class and could not not afford a better car like the wealthy people, it was this public bus that they took to whenever they were going.
• “Miss.. where are you heading to?" The driver smiled as he inquired from her.
• Nicole glance at the different colors of mixed yellow and white teeth of the driver and felt irritated, yet she took her face away as she focused on the road instead.
• “La Beauté hotel....” she said without a smile.
• “Okay." Said the man as he took the bus fare from her before driving ahead.
• There were bright light on the street of the city, such that shone each minute making the whole place to be beautiful.
• In the previous days whenever Nicole was returning back home, she would always glance at the street of the city and adored how colourful it was, but today was different because she could not feel the same energy and vibes that she felt.
• When the bus finally stopped in front of La Beauté hotel, Nicole came down and walked inside the hotel.
• The La Beauté hotel was one of the finest hotel in the city. Some said it was a seven-star hotel, but Nicole had no idea if it was true because it was not news she would follow.
• Truth be told, she had never been to this hotel because she was always too busy at work to have any time for herself and if not for Amelia who called her, she would never have been here in the first place.

• “Miss, welcome to La Beauté hotel. Please be notified that we need to verify your identity before you are allowed to enter inside. We only need your understanding and cooperation as this is the rules here in this hotel. Can I have your identity card if you don't mind?” a man in his early fifties with long blonde hair which was cascading on his shoulder walked to her. Nicole placed a smile as she brought out her identity card and gave it to the man.
• For what seems to take eternity, Nicole watched the man swipe her card at a machine that immediately popped out her picture and other information like her name and so on. When all was confirmed, the man gave the card back to her and ushered her in.
• After placing the card in her bag, Nicole further proceed to where the hotel room was. Luckily, she saw room 266 and knocked on the door of the hotel room.
• “Amelia are you there it's me Nicole, your sister. It seems the door is locked, if you can hear me can you open the door please..” Nicole sounded as quietly as she could.
• Amelia was strong willed from childhood, so Nicole knew the kind of person she was. She Could only hope and pray Amelia was able to hear her and open the door.
• When no response came from the hotel room. Nicole decided to try to call her again to see if she could pick up.
• “Sorry but the number you are trying to call is switch off. Try again later or drop a voice note and we will notify the caller as soon as they are available. Thanks." The service provider's voice came over the screen and after passing the message to her the call was disconnected.
• “I can't continue to wait here, since Amelia told me it's this room, she must still be Inside. I should go in instead. I can't afford to waste any more time." She concluded within herself, and with that in mind Nicole pushed the hotel room open and went in....
