• Still confused about her encounter with Beau, Mia sat at her desk and waited for Sam to summon her. She had a feeling it wouldn’t be too long. She’d worn an outfit similar to the one she’d worn her first day, though this pencil skirt had gray vertical stripes, and she had on different shoes. Dressing that morning, she’d found herself hoping Sam liked it.
• But she’d also been thinking of Beau. They’d been on the verge of moving things along in their relationship the night before. She had a feeling he would’ve wanted to take her to bed if she hadn’t alerted him that something was different about her. Part of her wished she hadn’t said anything at all. Sharing her first time with a man like Beau would be heavenly.
• What about Sam, though? What if he touched her first? Heaven wouldn’t be the right word for that sort of an encounter. But it would be memorable, that was for certain. As much as she craved being with a gentle, sweet man like Beau, she also wanted to be commanded by a man like Sam. Beau’s caresses had been soft and enticing. She imagined Sam’s would be forceful and demanding. How could she want both at the same time?
