Chapter 4
- Rebecca
- I’m not sure what scared me the most; that I could be pregnant for a stranger or that I feel the urge to find out who he is.
- I know he’s rich—his cologne gave that away and I know that he’s way older than I am. I also know he is powerful because his aura just says all of it but who is he? What does he have with Camilla?
- It’s been a week since the party and everything reminded me of him. I know I shouldn’t be doing this; that man might have forgotten what happened and even if he hasn’t, he barely thinks of it as anything.
- He’s experienced, unlike me—who has had nothing but an awful lot of sexcapades and nothing but a mind filled with stories and a finger in case I get unable to control myself.
- My phone beeped and it was Amelia. She was asking what my plan for the day was. To be quite honest, I have been sitting in the bathtub for nearly twenty minutes.
- The water was no longer hot but that was okay, I just needed to feel something on my body whether hot or cold. I exhaled long enough before grabbing the phone and staring at the screen.
- She was typing...
- I waited for a few more seconds before a notification pinged on my phone.
- Amelia: No plans? Cool, ‘cause I’m driving to your place now. I need help picking a new set of books.
- I didn’t even get a chance to respond before another text entered.
- Amelia: See you in fifteen. Please be dressed.
- “Ourghh,” I growled before I lowered the phone to the table. I didn't have anything doing but I’d rather sleep than get dragged to a bookstore to get lots of romance stories.
- I’m not much of a reader; I barely even have the energy to read my school books.
- I love movies though and that should count as something. I tried to hurry with sponging my body ‘cause I knew how she’d react if she came and I was still not dressed.
- Glad I could get a T-shirt over my head just before the door pushed open, I smirked.
- “You’re not dressed!”
- “You can’t say that. There’s a shirt on my body.”
- “Over your g-string? Girl please.”
- “Almost done.” I tried to get the jeans to my waist but my thigh made it difficult that I just had to jump first.
- When we reached the bookstore, she walked to the entrance without pausing. She didn't wait for me to meet up with her before she turned to greet the bookstore owner.
- “Hi, Collin!” her voice clamored as she waved at him. I watched her face turn pink as she blushed and that just made me frown.
- She was talking to him like she wanted to have sex with him. Maybe it’s just me, I tend to attribute everything to sex because it’s a better scale.
- “Meet my friend,” she said and quickly pulled me closer to her. “She’s not here for the books though.”
- Right.
- That was enough incidents for one day to make me realize how not-special I am.
- “Hey,” I blurted and placed my hands on his.
- His brown curly hair made its way to his forehead but yeah, he was cute. At least cute enough for Amelia.
- We walked over to the shelves and I looked at her face. She was smiling so hard from just looking at books arranged on the shelves.
- Amelia didn’t ask for my help all the while she was making picks. I just stood beside her, looking at my phone.
- I was checking the sixth account that had the name Ashton because for some obvious reasons, I couldn’t find him.
- It’s pretty difficult to know someone by just their first name but here I was, checking every single account I could find.
- “Let’s get some snacks,” Amelia suggested as we walked out of the bookstore. “I’m starving.”
- “Sure.”
- “Want something?” she asked and that caused me to raise my head from my phone. “Ourgh, no thanks.”
- She frowned at me and I knew Amelia was about to complain. “Maybe ice cream.”
- “Cool.”
- We walked into the building and took a round table a few miles from the door.
- It was a perfect view, only that I was looking at my screen and not the view. She dropped her book and moved away to make an order.
- I smiled at how nice she is—she doesn’t ask what flavor I want because she knows I’ll throw anything that isn’t chocolate. She’s the best friend I’ve ever had and I can’t deny it.
- She made only a few months feel like years and it felt so good to have her, to tell her everything—except that I fucked someone at the party she warned me against.
- “Here.”
- She handed me the cup and I smiled at the beauty. “Thanks, hun.”
- “Soooooooooo,” she dragged and I raised an eyebrow at her.
- “What?”
- “Are you ready to tell me now?” she leaned closer to the table and used her hands to hold her jaw. “The party.”
- “I’ve told you. There’s nothing extraordinary. It was fun, nice but yeah.”
- She looked at me with such dissatisfaction. “I thought I stood a chance to know more this time around.”
- “What do you mean?”
- “Parties like this happen every year and—wait let me show you.” She snuggled out her phone and searched for something, maybe a picture or—
- “There’s always an anonymous account with lots of stories about the party.”
- I looked at her for the first time with genuine interest in her story. Could she possibly know his full name or even his account?
- She still had her eyes on her screen and just before I could swallow the saliva welling in my mouth, she gave a shocking expression.
- “What?” I asked.
- “Someone’s sex tape is about to be leaked.”
- She shoved the phone to my face and I stared at the screen. I read the threat just before my eyes captured a picture where—“Oh shit.”
- This can’t be.
