Chapter 10 Denying After Having Fun?

  • Cold Night raised an eyebrow, a mischievous smirk playing at the corner of his mouth as he slowly approached her. "Your room? You don't remember? Hmm?"
  • Feeling Cold Night's presence, An Jingxi couldn't help but involuntarily step back.
  • Seeing her attempt to escape, Cold Night swiftly reached out and pulled An Jingxi into his embrace, causing her to fall onto the bed.
  • As An Jingxi fell, her lips accidentally brushed against his, and they locked eyes, both able to feel each other's breath.
  • An Jingxi's face instantly turned red, and she awkwardly sat up, trying to appear calm as she adjusted her hair.
  • Cold Night couldn't help but laugh at An Jingxi's flushed face, teasing her like a mischievous husband. "Are you planning to deny everything after having fun? My waist still hurts, and you already want to distance yourself."
  • Hearing this, An Jingxi widened her eyes and retorted, "I didn't! Don't accuse me!"
  • How could she possibly do such a thing? (Even if she did... she would never admit it!)
  • "Who accused you? Take a good look, whose room is this?" Cold Night propped his head up with one hand, calmly pointing.
  • An Jingxi looked around and realized that this really wasn't her room! "I... we, how is this possible?!"
  • An Jingxi touched her ear, struggling to accept this reality. How could they... how could they end up like this?
  • Cold Night sat up, crossing his arms in front of his chest, looking at her with a pitiful expression. "Why is it impossible? Last night, you were enthusiastically clinging to me several times. How come you don't recognize me now that you're dressed?"
  • Hearing Cold Night's convincing words, An Jingxi couldn't help but swallow nervously. Maybe she really did something after being drugged...
  • Her mind was in chaos, like a stampede of animals, and her eyebrows were almost knotted together.
  • Unable to bear seeing her so conflicted, Cold Night burst into laughter. "I was just teasing you. Nothing happened last night."
  • Only then did An Jingxi snap out of it. She touched her clothes and realized she was still wearing the same professional suit from yesterday, finally letting out a sigh of relief.
  • Glancing at Cold Night, who had played a prank on her, she couldn't help but get angry. "You didn't take any medicine, why did you scare me!"
  • "Is it my fault? You're just too naive, believing everything others say," Cold Night retorted, unwilling to back down.
  • "You! I don't want to talk to you anymore!" An Jingxi turned her head, refusing to look at him.
  • Seeing this, Cold Night stopped teasing An Jingxi and spoke seriously, "Don't be foolish in the future. Don't drink anything given by anyone. I was able to save you this time, but it doesn't mean I can save you every time. You must learn to protect yourself."
  • Looking at Cold Night's serious expression, An Jingxi couldn't help but get lost in his deep eyes and absentmindedly replied, "Okay."
  • Cold Night looked at her foolish appearance and affectionately patted her head, "Then get up quickly. I've already prepared the toiletries, and your clothes are in the wardrobe."
  • After saying that, Cold Night got up and left the room.
  • An Jingxi watched his departing figure and couldn't help but think: I didn't expect him to be a true gentleman. If it were any other man yesterday, he probably wouldn't have been able to resist.
  • But... if something really did happen yesterday, she probably wouldn't blame him either.
  • After all, compared to that sleazy man, she would still prefer to be with him.
  • When An Jingxi finished washing up and walked down to the restaurant, she saw Cold Night reading a Russian book while holding a cup of coffee.
  • Looking at Cold Night's exquisite profile, An Jingxi couldn't help but become infatuated.
  • Oh my, he's so good-looking!
  • "Go ahead, keep looking. The more you look, the more you'll like me," Cold Night thought childishly, sensing An Jingxi's infatuated gaze.
  • But An Jingxi seemed to be stuck in place, as if glued there by 502, just staring at him.
  • Cold Night had no choice but to pretend that he had just noticed her, "Hey, why did you come down? Why aren't you saying anything?"
  • "I... I just came down, really," An Jingxi blushed, smoothing her hair and pretending to be calm.
  • She didn't even believe her own words, but she couldn't possibly admit that she was infatuated, right?! She would lose face.
  • Cold Night saw through her but didn't expose her, giving her a faint smile, "Since you're down, let's eat."
  • An Jingxi walked to the table and looked at the abundant Chinese and Western-style breakfast, "Do you eat this much for breakfast every day?"
  • Only after she said it did she realize that it was inappropriate. It's none of her business what he likes to eat.
  • Cold Night glanced at her and casually replied, "No, I just didn't know what you liked, so I asked them to prepare a little of everything."
  • "Thank you, but there's no need to go through so much trouble."
  • An Jingxi stuffed a shrimp dumpling into her mouth and berated herself for her foolishness just now.
  • "How is it? Do you still like it? If you don't like it, I can ask them to change it."
  • Cold Night looked at her cautiously, afraid that his little wife would be upset because of breakfast.
  • Just as An Jingxi was about to answer, her phone in her pocket rang, and her whole demeanor softened as she looked at the caller ID on the screen.
  • "Hello, Lele baby~"
  • An Jingxi stood up and walked to a corner to answer the phone.
  • Watching An Jingxi's back, Cold Night's eyebrows furrowed, feeling as if he had drunk several bottles of old vinegar, sour and bitter.
  • Lele baby?
  • Lele?
  • That's obviously a man's name! Thinking of the man she mentioned even in her dreams, and how gentle she was with him now.
  • Cold Night suddenly felt suspicious, feeling as if there was a vast grassland above his head.
  • He wanted to go up and hang up her phone, but he was afraid that it would scare her away.
  • Cold Night regretted not having Chen Su investigate An Jingxi's detailed information.
  • In his years of business, whenever he encountered a new project, he would have Chen Su investigate and gather information about the project. As the saying goes, know yourself and your enemy, and you will never be defeated.
  • But he didn't want to use such means on her. He wanted to hear her slowly tell her own story, rather than learn about her from someone else's perspective.
  • After a while, An Jingxi hung up the phone and came back.
  • "Did you not come home last night? Was it because of a call from your family?" Leng Ye asked casually as he ate his toast.
  • "Yes, I didn't go home last night and I didn't receive any calls. I was worried all night."
  • Thinking about Lele's gentle voice on the phone, An Jingxi's heart melted. She acted spoiled and made promises, coaxing him for a long time until he felt better.
  • It seemed that when she went back later, she would have to bring a small gift to make up for this poor little baby.
  • Leng Ye looked at An Jingxi, who would smile whenever she talked about that man, and suddenly felt a pang in his heart.
  • Could there really be someone else in her life?
  • Leng Ye lowered his gaze, feeling inexplicably frustrated, and unconsciously loosened his collar.
  • As he watched An Jingxi finish eating and prepare to leave, a thought flashed through Leng Ye's mind. He lazily leaned back in his chair, looking at her with a serious expression.
  • "Since I helped you so much yesterday, shouldn't you show some appreciation?"
