Chapter 34

  • I arrived home today, utterly exhausted. It wasn't a physical fatigue but rather a mental weariness that burdened me. My mind has been consumed by thoughts of my predicament, torn between Miss Esther and Sandra's best friend, Cynthia. The weight of this inner turmoil is taking its toll on me. Seeking solace at home, I was greeted by Felicia, still huddled on the couch, tears streaming down her face. It seemed to be a continuation of the morning's events. Unable to ignore her distress, I softly inquired, "What's wrong, Felicia? Why are you crying?"
  • With a trembling voice, she replied, "It's nothing," but her sobs persisted, and I couldn't help but release a weary sigh.
  • "I know you've been crying since morning. You can't tell me nothing is wrong," I gently insisted, placing my hands tenderly on her shoulders as I settled beside her. Felicia looked at me in surprise, her expression betraying the fact that I had mentioned the morning incident.
