Chapter 6 Ezra's New Look

• Ezra's POV:
• Working and making a living staying here is the best option for now and I have Gina and Gloria and the rest of the slaves nothing can go wrong at this point.
• I just wanted to stay here. I have made friends already.
• The connection I had with the slaves is not one that I want to let go of so easily,they reminded me of my family.
• Our bond was what kept us together despite everything ,and seeing that bond here made me get attached.
• I was told the master doesn't take bed mates and he doesn't give out any if His slaves or servants, that calmed me down so I am on a safe side. I will make him speechless the next time he sees me.

• A week later the master and some soldiers left for war over a boundary issue. The mansion was filled with life. I was told that whenever the master left everyone would suddenly become livelier. Did they hate his presence?
• They returned two weeks later victorious.
• There was a celebration as he had chased the bandits away and killed them and expanded his territory,that's a master's greatest achievement expanding his territory.
• Guests arrived to the party a month has elapsed so I was to serve with the rest of the maids.
• It was my time to shine. I thought to myself,I am gonna make everyone so speechless that their words would be caught in their throat .
• I took a shower for the first time after all the maids were done .
• Taking a shower is not a must ,some can go days without doing so but most people pick an offense in it especially if you come to a Master's house dirty.
• After washing my body and hair thoroughly for an hour, my body was so dirty I wasn't proud of it but I needed to do it to protect myself.
• I took a lot of time washing my body but I wanted to be sure that it was thoroughly clean with no spots.
• I put on my maid outfit and went to the kitchen where the rest were. Ma Nora couldn't believe her eyes.
• "E..Ezra?" Ma Nora was shocked, but she quickly overcame her shock and smiled.
• "Yes ma." I smiled. This was the reaction I was expecting,I suddenly felt proud of myself.
• The other maids looked at me with jealousy,that's expected. I didn't do much but I washed my hair and packed it in a ponytail,I applied a little makeup that Gloria taught me and sprayed perfume.
• I have a pretty face that's why I like the dirt on it to avoid the attention of men but now am free to do what I want now since the master doesn't take bedmates .
• "You look lovely," she said happily.
• "Thank you ma." I smiled.
• "Let's get to work " ma Nora said and everyone got back to work. Some maids glared at me.
• "Don't mind them," Gloria told me.
• "Ladies start serving." Ma Nora said. Everyone lined up as we walked out.
• "No need to be nervous," Gloria said. I calmed down.
• The masters have already been served. We went to the hall trays in hand serving drinks and cakes. As I walked eyes were on me but I ignored it since I was not the only maid,they couldn't be staring at me.
• I wasn't that pretty. I am sure that Naomi is more beautiful, as if....
• "Hi pretty " a man had called and I just smiled at him and walked by.
• "Beauty .....you look breathtaking" I heard another said but it can't be me so I continued walking.
• There were four masters at the table. Their presence was intimidating. I looked at the master and he turned and our eyes met and I looked away and continued serving the drinks I was holding.
• I hope he saw me. I need him to see me well enough to see that I am not the dirty maid she thought I was.
• A few men complimented me and I smiled and thanked them as Gloria taught me.
• She had already told me that I would receive a lot of compliments but I told her it was a lie.
• "Who would even look at me stop joking" I said.
• She laughed at me and shook her head. All she said was smile and thank them when they compliment you but don't stay too long with one man,you are a maid .
• If I looked dirty would I even be noticed?
• I will be shoved around and no one will want to know what I was carrying.
• I didn't know that being beautiful got you many admires.
• I felt like I was on stage and every move I made was being watched. I can't make a mistake.
• Being pretty really has its advantages.
• I really wanted the master to see how well I have adapted to the mansion. I was happy he gave me a chance to be here. I won't disappoint him.
• I noticed a master staring at me intensely.
• It was my Master's friend.
• Please don't tell me that I have become his prey .
• I acted as if I didn't notice him and continued serving ,should I go back into the kitchen?
• Or should I ignore him?
• Maybe he wasn't even looking at me. There are many people here, even ladies.
• I am sure he's looking at one of them.
• I hope I am right.
