Chapter 2

  • Nathaniel
  • I stare at the woman in front of me and hold my head due to the splitting headache coming through.
  • She is the woman in my dreams. How come this is real? Or perhaps I am going crazy. Since that accident five years ago, I came out without my memories but this face kept recurring in my dreams. First, the woman didn't have a face, then as days went by, she gradually revealed herself to me.
  • Green piercing eyes, pink luscious lips, the way her dark curly hair tangles in my fingers when I hold her, the way her soft body perfectly fits on mine, and then out of nowhere, she appears in front of me. This is some crazy shit.
  • Does she come from my past? No. I quickly shake my head. I am about to ask where she came from but she suddenly runs back to her room in tears. Why is she crying? Is it perhaps the way I drugged her down here?
  • The only person I know from before is my supposed fiancee, Samantha. I was never involved with another woman apart from her.
  • I came home with one intention. To put the woman who wanted to marry me in her place. I can't afford another woman obsessing over me like a lunatic. That's why I wanted her to know her place. Also, the marriage is supposed to last for a year but I can't have that. I wanted it to last for three months. That is enough time to let my family know my stand.
  • I have worked so hard not to be tangled in their chaos and even after standing on my own feet, they still persisted I married a woman I should have five years ago. That's why I asked my secretary to find a woman to act as my fake wife but nothing could have prepared me for what I just met.
  • I have never been this confused before.
  • Slowly following her to her room, my hand remains on the door handle and pauses. Fuck! she is crying.
  • Her deep sobs pierce my heart for some reason and it just adds to my confusion. Is she crying because of me? Does she know me from somewhere? I can't stand the sounds anymore, so I turn around to leave.
  • "Fuck,?" I grab a bottle of tequila and take a big swig. Reed chuckles and lightly pats my back.
  • He has no idea the turmoil in my heart right now. The more I think about that girl, the more my headache intensifies.
  • " You are in trouble, Nate. Those eyes can make you do anything against your will" I turn to my friend and furrow my brows at him. He didn't just say that, did he? "Anyway, I can't find anything on her, she is mysterious"
  • "Never mind" I dismissively whisper. I will find out everything about her myself. There is nothing I can't dig out. Of course, those eyes haunt my dreams every night and I would have never expected them to be real.
  • "Don't let those eyes deceive you though, She must be here for a reason, and until we know why she is, we can't let her walk out of those doors. Something doesn't add up" Reed observes and I snort.
  • "I will handle it" I don't wait for him to answer and walk out of my house. I need to clear my mind.
  • Just then, my phone vibrates and I instantly stop when I stare at the screen. The message is from an unknown number but that is not the important part. I stare at the photos attached to the message and my heart skips.
  • The pictures of me and the girl. I am protectively holding her as she softly stares at me. All the photos are the same, me and the girl on different occasions. We seem to be intimate and the way we stare at each other is with so much warmth.
  • What the fuck is happening? The caption reads ' find her'. This unknown person has been sending me encrypted messages which I didn't understand until now.
  • *
  • I blankly stare at the files on my table with no idea where to start. My mind is everywhere.
  • "Boss, the girl is missing" Reed's call startles me and my hand tightens on the phone. Did she run away?
  • "She took one of your cars, and the GPS indicates that she is at Brandon's Club"
  • "On my way" Brandon is my number one rival and she shouldn't be there. Unless she is up to something. If that girl dares try shit with me, fuck knows how I treat traitors. It doesn't matter if we have a past or not.
  • I roughly pack my car and my guards rush after me. Sounds of gunfire reach my ears and my heart almost stops. The room is in chaos, chairs and the tables are upside down and everyone is shooting at each other. My eyes roam around the people for one scared girl but no one matches that profile.
  • However, I spot a slender figure, effortlessly jumping from one table to another, shooting everything in sight as if she was meant to do just that. Her movements are agile and quicker than her opponent's. I marvel at how her long dark hair follows each of her movements as if she is in a sensual dance.
  • The gun sounds cease and her two guns remain aimed in the air. Ready to defend herself if more danger occurs.
  • When she is satisfied the room is secured, she hides away the two guns and innocently combs her fingers through her hair. One wouldn't guess she can hurt a fly or worse, walk around with two loaded guns on her.
  • With a sigh, the girl starts walking towards the door and just then, her green eyes lock on mine and they are as innocent as ever.
  • Who is this girl?
  • Instantly, I pull out my phone and call Damon. He has been my friend since childhood and he will surely know who this girl is. My call goes unanswered and I dial again until he picks up.
  • "What?" The guy rudely snaps and I ignore his crude voice.
  • "Do you know who the girl in the picture is?" I forward one of the pictures I received earlier to him and he chuckles in amusement.
  • "Oh! you mean Ella? The pregnant girl you left behind five years ago?" he laughs and I instantly tense.
  • Pregnant?
