Chapter 144

• The wooden door slowly made some cracking sound as it pulled open. A shadow was visible, soon the sound of footsteps was heard until it came to a halt in front of Manuel who looked bruised and covered in his own blood.
• He looked very weak and vulnerable, the cut and swollen part on his face were very visible. He seemed to be asleep but the cold water which had been splashed on his face instantly sprang him up from his deep sleep.
• “Did you really think that you could put one over me? You thought that I would never find out that you had backstabbed me? You are a pathetic man without honor!” Claudia yelled out with clenched teeth and visible smirk on her face.
