Chapter 7 Burning Desire

  • Evelyn
  • I walked inside the kitchen, my frustration for somewhat reason was growing more and more even though it had not been even a minute since I had walked away from the middle of the dance with Jacob.
  • I hated it! I hated his riddles and his ways of ignoring things that I wanted him to know.
  • It was solely intentional. I knew he was not a damn child to be clueless about the fact that I had liked him for years and I still did. I was fucking obsessed with him and this dude did not seem to give a fuck about that.
  • I was done!
  • Fuck Jacob Adriano!
  • 'well, that's the only thing you can't...." The bitch in my head decided to ruin my mood even more with her offensive remark.
  • 'well...fuck you too, little snake' I found myself barking back at that bitch and shutting the talks inside of my mind.
  • God! I hated my mood swings and my life even more!
  • I knew I was overreacting but I couldn't help it. One moment he'd be the most flirtatious thing ever and the moment he'd act like a fucking philosopher.
  • I grabbed a bottle of cold water and slammed the fridge door back thinking it'll aid in calming my frustration and anger that was boiling like molten lava.
  • As I tried to open the bottle cap, this little piece of plastic was to making fun of me. Yes! YOu guessed it right, this shit was not opening.
  • I once again tried to open the bottle but no gain, it did not open.
  • Am I that weak and stupid?
  • 'Maybe you are, otherwise who would plan on banging her dad's best friend?'
  • That bitch spoke again.
  • My focus began diverting to yelling at myself but then I heard the heavy footsteps approaching.
  • I knew who It could be so I did not bother to glance back at the doorway to reconfirm.
  • He walked closer and stood beside me, but I did not bother to look at him. There was simply no point in talking to him and making more of a fool of myself and wasting time than I already had.
  • So instead of looking at him, I tried to focus on this next impossible mission after Jacob and undoubtedly it was— Opening the bottle cap.
  • I could feel his gaze on me the whole time.
  • "Let me help you," He spoke after a few minutes of watching my unsuccessful struggles and tried to take the bottle from me.
  • "No, I can do things by myself," I curtly refused and moved it away from his reach.
  • I could have sworn, I heard him suppressing a chuckle but if anything it did was add a cherry on top of my empire of useless anger.
  • "If you are here to laugh at me, then please leave," I spoke through gritted teeth, still not looking at him and keeping my task as my main focus.
  • "Evelyn...I am not laughing at you," He said, his voice softer than ever.
  • "I bet you were!" I still made no mood to look at him.
  • "Okay. I admit that I was laughing," He sighed, "Now will you look at me?"
  • "No," I deadpanned.
  • "Why is that?" He asked.
  • "I have more than one reason to keep my distance from you, Jacob," I said, my voice not remaining as loud as before it was at the start, "After all, you won't understand anything."
  • "And why do you think that?" His voice turned lower too and it got serious in some way as well.
  • "I don't think that, I know that from what I am seeing. You like to avoid facts but I like to face them so it's better that, from now on I stay away from you to....." I paused for a second debating whether to say the next words or not but then my courage kicked in out of nowhere, "Keep you out of my mind for good."
  • I did not know what kind of reaction I had expected from him. Maybe silence or anything else but what Jacob said in return was something I had never expected.
  • "And you want me to believe that staying away from me will help you erase me from your mind? You want me to believe that you'll miraculously succeed in doing what you couldn't even after all these years?"
  • Holy!
  • With those two questions, he made everything else fly away from my mind. The intense heat seeped into my skin and my determination began to slip away little by little.
  • He knew it. He knew all of it.
  • He hadn't told me directly but within these boundaries of these questions, he uttered there laid all the answers that were too pronounced and evident to miss.
  • The cap of the bottle miraculously opened, maybe because of the mixed feelings that made me add pressure to it but I no longer had the mind to drink anything anymore.
  • "So you knew it from the start...you knew it that..." I couldn't even finish my sentence as he interrupted.
  • "Yes. I knew it, from the very day you have ever laid your eyes on me." He said, his voice sounding closer, I could feel his breath hitting my bare exposed shoulder covered underneath only the thin strap of the black midi dress.
  • The aura of his felt like the approach of the predator to its prey and never in my life I had thought the idea of being the prey could feel this intriguing.
  • "Then yes, I want and I think that you'll be able to believe that staying away from you will help me to do what is needed," I spoke, I couldn't even define my feelings any longer, "Since you are so good at overlooking at signs and ignore everything."
  • I turned around without bothering to look back at him and attempted to walk toward the exit however, I did not succeed.
  • It all happened in a blink. For one second I was standing on my feet and the next moment they were no longer on the ground anymore.
  • The cold marble surface of the counter touched my skin, my back slammed against the wall and a gasp automatically left my mouth due to the sudden impact.
  • It took me a moment to realize that Jacob had actually picked me up by my thighs and set me on this counter, and now as I realized how close we were my loudly pulsating heart got no mercy.
  • His hips were dangerously brushing against mine as he stood between my thigs, his hands settled on both sides of my waist and they pulled me, even more, close so that my body collide against his rock-hard chest.
  • This was it. All my senses were long gone soon as my eyes locked with his. The heat exploded in my lower abdomen, and the water bottle soon fell from my hand but that mess did not concern me more than the one between my thighs did.
  • There was hunger in his eyes that made my body beg me to submit.
  • "Evelyn Fernandez..." His voice was a suppressed growl, his chest vibrated against mine as he spoke, "Just because I am not allowing myself the pleasure to have my ways with you, does not mean that I want to do anything else other than taking you here right on this counter and have you scream my name over and over again."
  • Oh. My. God.
  • I couldn't believe that this was the Jacob I knew who was talking to me right now.
  • The thoughts those words alone aroused were undeniably pleasing.
  • "Just because I have decided to not take you hard right now when you are looking so sexy and tempting in this black little dress, does not mean I don't want to take you to my room, bend you over and fuck you till the sun goes up." He wrapped his fingers around my throat and squeezed it earning a breathy moan from me as he ground his bulge against my wet heat covered with only a thin thong.
  • "Fuck!" He cursed under his breath hearing my moan.
  • It was not hard to notice that he too was losing his control the way he was making me lose it. Heaviness appeared in both of our breathing but certainly, it did not affect him more than I did.
  • The desire surrounded my mind leaving no escape for me.
  • I wanted his lips to press against mine so bad, I wanted him to do exactly what he said, I wanted him to ravish me but I also knew he wouldn't do that. He was refraining from losing his calm.
  • "But I can't do that. I can't have you," He breathed out and pressed his nose to the skin on my neck inhaling my scent.
  • The goosebumps raked my body, my hands that were clutching his shirt for balancing myself tightened their hold on the fabric for some reason thinking that it would be the only one that'd help me fall from the edge of this overpowering enigma of desire and the temptation himself.
  • Jacob's hand around my neck moved to grab my jaw where he titled my face so that his lips could find their way to my jaw. Every inch of my skin was set on fire that will never deter and his lips landed more and more feather-like kisses the want for friction increased.
  • I was soaking wet down there and the worst thing was that I did not care.
  • I could not think of anything else other than Jacob and the things he made me feel.
  • He placed a lingering kiss at the corner of my mouth making me clutch his shirt even tighter, his minty breath fanned my face and the collision of heat caused the need to grow even more Just when I thought his lips would press against mine, he stopped. They were inches away from touching them but...he just stopped.
  • He reached with one of his hands and traced his index finger from my neck to my bare shoulder, I involuntarily shivered under his touch.
  • "You are tempting as sin, Evelyn," He whispered, "The only sin I can't commit."
  • There went all my hopes shattered by his statement.
  • He brushed away a few pieces of my hair strand from my face and then after a long look at me he attempted to pull away from me but this time I hooked my legs around him, stopping him from moving away.
  • "But you are the sin I can commit in every possible way," I grabbed his hands and settled them on my hips, pulling him as close as possible.
  • "Evelyn...."
  • Before he could say anything else, I did not know where I got the courage but I slid my hand around his neck and pressed my lips against his. The warmth spread through my body rapidly.
  • I did not give a fuck if there were over a hundred people around and the chances of us getting caught, even more, all I cared about was this man; I was fucking obsessed to the point it was insane.
  • He did not fall into motions at first, he seemed shocked and most importantly trying to get a hold of himself but soon as I brushed my tongue over his bottom lips he seemed to lose all of the restraints.
  • He yanked my body close so our hips come colliding against each other, my moan got suppressed by his mouth and my hardened nipple pressed against his rock-hard chest as he ravished me.
  • God damn!
  • He thrust his tongue inside my mouth, the touch sending a zap of electricity to my entire body and causing the fire to ignite even more was the feel of hardness between my thighs.
  • I reached out to open the buttons of his shirt but it was then when his senses seemed to emerge from the fog of enigma, that he came to the realization.
  • He grabbed my hands and stopped them before he broke the kiss.
  • "This is not right, Evelyn," He sighed shaking his head.
  • "Why?" My voice came out lower than a whisper.
  • "We have our own boundaries that we can not pass," He spoke, "We should not do this. You are not that kind of a girl, Evelyn."
  • "Is this what was on your mind the whole time? The intention to humiliate me?" I asked, the hurt flashed in my eyes.
  • He must have understood how I had taken the meaning of his sentence, his eyes widened ever so slightly as the realization drew upon his features.
  • "No, it's not what I meant," He quickly spoke, "There's nothing in you. What I meant is that, I am not ready for any commitment neither I can give it to you even if I want to and You do not deserve to be treated like that. You don't deserve to be treated as an object."
  • "Jacob..."
  • "No, Evelyn," He shook his head, "We can't do this and you have to understand it, it's wrong."
  • he paused for a second before he spoke once again.
  • "And I think you were right, we should really start keeping our distance." As the sentence left his mouth, I finally let him go.
  • "Fine, if you want to act like that then I'll let it be," I said, my voice remaining void of emotions but from inside I was burning in the fire, the weird pain in my chest that could not be subsided.
  • My body yearned for his touch, there was this part of me that hoped to convince him but I decided to disregard all of it and hopped off the counter.
  • Talking to him was of no use.
  • "Goodbye, Jacob." With that, I walked out of the kitchen.
