Chapter 5 Shirt
- Evelyn
- Currently, I was sitting in dad and Clara's room. There was this huge mass of clothes on dad's bed that he apparently bought for his friends and relatives and now after separating and packing everyone's gifts in the bags there were two same-colored shirts in different sizes that lay on the bed for dad's best friend.
- The same person whose words from yesterday were still replaying in my head.
- "Why is there an extra shirt?" I questioned placing the magazine in my hand beside the table.
- "Oh, I bought two different sizes for Jacob since I didn't know how buff he might have gotten," Dad chuckled walking closer and sitting on the bed, "He does build himself like a giant."
- I could disagree with the fact that Jacob has built himself really well, even with those muscles being underneath his clothes it was not hard to point out how perfect that male figure is.
- "Both sides don't have much difference, I guess any of these will fit him," Clara commented inspecting the shirts.
- "I need him to check if any of these fits him or not, but apparently my spine is hurting due to walking to so many damn stores," Dad lowly groaned stretching his arms.
- "Evelyn, honey why don't you just go and tell Jacob to try these? You haven't done a single chore the whole day anyway." Dad said looking at me, my brows scrunched at the end of his sentence.
- He always considered me lazy and I myself didn't know if I was actually lazy or not, but right now I was not going to decline this chore.
- "Maybe, you could have properly asked me instead of calling me lazy. Couldn't you dad?" I asked.
- "But you are lazy, everybody in the world knows that," Dad chuckled causing a frown to settle on my face.
- "Wow! I did not know you had enmity with watching me relax." I scowled at him and this only increased the amusement dancing on his feature.
- "Don't trouble her, Samuel," Clara told dad, controlling her own laugh that threatened to break through, "You'll be the one roaming like a ghost all day if she decides to ignore you for a day for revenge."
- Dad's expression changed at the reminder and I saw him clearing his throat as if the thought itself troubled him.
- "I think it has been a long since I have done that, and dad is making sure that I shall try it again." I crossed my hands over my chest, the tug appeared on my lip on its own knowing that this plan of mine was going to work.
- Dad fell silent for second seeming to be contemplating whether he should take the risk and keep getting on my nerves or stop it.
- Apparently, he got his decision quicker than expected.
- "Fine, I am sorry," Dad sighed in defeat, "Now please...would you go and hand these shirts to Jacob?"
- I wanted to say no but...
- How could I say no to the beautiful view of Jacob's face?
- Did not know who could but Evelyn Fernandez definitely could not....not even in her wildest dreams.
- "Fine, give it to me," I rolled my eyes, showing the annoyance on my expression that was of course not real.
- I took the bag from dad's hand and walked out of the room, passing the rooms of the long corridor I finally found the one where Jacob Adriano was staying in.
- The thought of going to his room triggered so many dirty imaginations to stir awake. Well....the ideas they were giving were not that bad though...
- Evelyn get your virgin ass together!
- I shunned my thoughts away and yanked myself out of the daydreams before I finally knocked on the door.
- No response came.
- I once again knocked on the door, yet this time no response could be heard from the other side.
- What was he doing?
- The door was not locked too...
- The impatience rose so did the skepticism, I was stuck in an eternal debate of whether I should peek inside the room or not.
- It wasn't as though my intentions were bad. Or maybe they could be...Fuck I did not know!
- "Jacob?" I called out and knocked on his door one more time, but this time there was no response that came from him.
- Was he not in the room?
- As low as my patience level was, my curiosity was the complete opposite.
- And I decided to do the most possible thing that came to my mind and that was to...yes, anyone could have guessed it right. I slightly opened the door and peeked inside the room.
- Well, this was odd— There was no one in the room.
- Should I go inside?
- That'd be quite wrong but it's my dad's mansion anyway. I simply didn't give a fuck about what was appropriate or not moreover there were plenty of excuses to use if anyone or possibly Jacob caught me in his room right now.
- I did not give my mind to think about it one more time and I walked inside the room, looking around to really check if he was in the room or not.
- Well apparently there was no sign of him but I could see a trouser and a plain black white t-shirt resting on the bed.
- 'Was he in the...'
- Before I could even complete my thoughts, the sound of the bathroom door opening broke through the silence in the room and Jacob's voice came buzzing in my ears the next moment.
- "Evelyn?"
- I gasped in surprise and whipped around to face him but damn...
- As soon as I turned to face him, I began wishing I didn't.
- The water droplets slid down his wet sculpted body and if specified his rock-hard abs, his damp hair fell over his face ever so slightly and the most interesting part of this entire image of Jacob in front was that he was shirtless and just had a towel wrapped around that hung very low of his waist.
- And that tattoo...god! I did not know if going to faint or not.
- Never in my life, I had thought the face of freshly showered Jacob could be this delicious.
- "What are you doing here?" He asked, the sheer look of confusion covered his face although I could a faint hint of something more too as his tongue darted out to lick his bottom lip.
- My thoughts began making a mess and of course, my brain decided to take a break right at the most crucial moment.
- "Uh, I-I..." It was hard to focus on anything else when he was standing half-naked in front of me.
- "I came to give you these shirts." I finally blurted out.
- "Shirts?" His eyes drifted to spot the bags in my hand, and recognition crossed his eyes.
- "Actually, dad brought matching shirts for all his friends and family for the party tomorrow," I spoke, "He did not know the size you wear, so he brought two different sizes."
- He chuckled, "This one's an old habit of your dad. Even on my birthdays, he'd always bring two sizes in case one doesn't fit me."
- "I know," A small laugh slipped past my lips this time, "He never succeeded in choosing gifts for you, it was always me who had to struggle to help him choose gifts for you."
- "So all the gifts...you chose all of them?" He asked.
- "Yeah, or else your best friend could have never given you a suitable present on your birthdays, I wondered for years if you liked any of those gifts I chose and if yes which one was your favorite..." I laughed but once my eyes locked with his ones and the silence began stretching across the room giving scopes to the tension to grow I found myself speaking out.
- "Umm...would you please check if any of these fit you?"
- Something about his stare once again made me feel the things I shouldn't.
- "Sure," He grabbed a spare towel from the top of the wardrobe and wiped away the water that was trailing down his figure.
- His eyes never moved from me, they were almost fixated on me.
- "Here, give them to me," He took the bags from my hand and put them on the bed before he pulled out one of the shirts.
- Well...I did not think he was going to try them in front of me.
- But could I complain? Not at all.
- He tried to slip his hands inside the sleeves but the fabric around tightened just around his biceps.
- No matter how giant my dad might make him sound, his muscles could never be giant. On a scale of one to ten, anyone could give him an eleven in perfectness.
- He was perfect and his body too was perfect, but this size of the shirt? Hell no!
- I felt like going back and asking my dad if he was drunk when he chose this size of shirt for this grown-up man.
- "Samuel will never change," His manly chuckle caused the goosebumps to cover my skin.
- 'This won't fit but the other one might," As he tried to get his hands out of the sleeve, the slight dampness on his skin made it a struggle for the fabric to separate from his skin.
- "Damn!' He muttered under his breath and tried to remove the shirt.
- "Let me help you," Before I even knew it, I had moved closer and grabbed the placket of the shirt, pulling the edges in my hold but as I did...I realized what a stupid decision it was!
- I had accidentally moved too close... Literally so close that I could feel the warmth of his breath and the heat of his skin.
- My poor heart began beating faster, I could hear the sound of it in my own ears.
- I tried to play it cool and began to remove the shirt from his body, my fingers accidentally brushed against his skin and my breathing got heavier within seconds.
- Calm down, Evelyn!
- I made my hands work faster and cautiously removed the shirt avoiding any touch with his skin.
- "Here's try this one," I picked up the other shirt and handed it to me, I avoided meeting his eyes for the sake of my dignity.
- "Okay," He took it from me, and this time as he wore it, even though he did not but on it up it was not hard to notice that it fitted perfectly.
- "So this one is it," I said and finally gathered the courage to look at him, "You can wear it to tomorrow's party.'
- "I guess, yeah."
- "I should get going, see you later Jacob." A sigh of relief was on the way to leaving my mouth when I reached the exit but then his voice stopped me.
- "Evelyn..."
- My feet halted and my breathing stopped for a sec I turned around and found him walking closer to me.
- "The custom watch with my initials, " He leaned closer to my ear and whispered, his cheek brushed against mine as he spoke, "That one was perfect."
- It took me a few seconds to realize that he was talking about the gifts.
- As he pulled away a bit to look at me, all the air in lungs my lung vanished within the very moment he looked into my eyes.
- "Thanks for making the effort to choose those gifts for me," A small smile curved on his lips and then he tucked a piece of my hair strand behind my ear.
- OH. MY. GOD
- The single contact set my body on fire.
- "Y-You are welcome," I stuttered blushing and then I found myself turning around and hurrying out of the place.
- Well, I could have sworn that I heard his chuckle when I had taken off, blushing like a mess.
