- I didn’t realize how tense my shoulders were until I finally walked out of that pretentious ballroom. The moment the cold air hit my face, I sucked in a deep breath and let it out in one long, slow exhale. I could still hear the low sound of music from inside, the clinking of champagne flutes and the occasional fake laugh drifting through the air.
- My heels clicked angrily against the pavement as I made my way toward the valet stand. The urge to rip off these damn shoes and scream was strong.
