Chapter 5 Transfer Of Shares Documents
- I know well that Richard is waiting for me.
- But she, who had hitched a ride, happened to be sitting in the passenger's seat.
- I was tempted to turn around and walk away, but reason persuaded me to stay.
- I reached out to Richard and asked, "The car keys."
- Without saying anything, Richard placed the keys in my hand.
- I walked past the front of the car and directly took the driver's seat, meeting Bianca's stiff and surprised face with a smile, "What's wrong?
- You're also Richard's sister, hitching a ride is nothing abnormal."
- Then, leaning over to look at Richard outside the car, "Get in the car quickly, Grandpa must be waiting for us already."
- The ride was silent.
- As quiet as a tomb.
- Bianca wanted to chat with Richard, but it would have looked unnatural to keep turning around.
- Perhaps noticing my discomfort, Richard suddenly opened a bottle of juice and handed it over, "Mango juice, your favorite."
- I took a sip, slightly furrowing my brows and handed it back to him, "It's a bit too sweet for me, you have it."
- I've recently taken a liking to sour foods.
- In the past, whenever something disagreed with my taste buds, I could still force myself to finish it so I wouldn't waste food.
- But now, I can't even tolerate a single bite.
- "Okay."
- Richard didn't say anything and accepted the bottle back with equanimity.
- "Letting him drink something you've already had, isn't that bad?
- There are plenty of bacteria in your mouth, that's how Helicobacter Pylori spreads."
- Bianca spoke with a complex demeanor.
- I can't help but laugh, "If we go by your logic, aren't we in more danger as we share the same bed?"
- " He is an adult, Bianca knows clearly what I meant, "Unexpected, despite the fact that you've been a couple for a long time, you are still so close."
- "Are you jealous?" Richard coldly retorts.
- There are occasions, like now, when Richard's attitude towards her makes me feel like he really finds Bianca annoying.
- This seems to be their mutual way of interaction, Bianca responds sarcastically,
- "Yes, I’m jealous! What is it to you?"
- "Who cares about you."
- "Sure, sure." Bianca rolls her eyes, her eyes flicker with a playful smile,
- "I wonder who it was that ran out on his wife on his wedding night to stay by my side when he heard about my accident…"
- "Bianca!" Richard's face changes, and he sternly calls a halt!
- I suddenly come to my senses and slam on the brakes, stopping the car just in time before it rushes onto the zebra crossing.
- Through the rearview mirror, I gaze at Richard's profound facial features, my heart feels as if it's been drenched with lemon juice.
- A sense of grievance that stung my eyes and nose surged up in an instant. Richard uncommonly showed worry in front of me,
- "Sophia..." "That night, were you with her?" When I opened my mouth, I found that even my voice betrayed my bitterness.
- My emotions roiled within me, almost uncontrollable.
- Although my relationship with Richard is harmonious now, the fact still stings that on our wedding night, he left me for an unknown caller and didn't return all night.
- Our marriage was arranged by Grandfather Lincoln.
- At the beginning, we were practically strangers, and I never had a chance to ask where he'd been that night.
- The matter had remained unresolved.
- Now, without warning, Bianca pulls that prickling thorn out of my heart and drives it deeper.
- My gaze kept flitting between the two of them, feeling like the brunt of a cruel joke.
- With a gasp of surprise, Bianca covered her mouth and looked at Richard, "You never told Sophia about this, did you? It's all my fault, I speak too impulsively."
- As if suggested, you two must not be that close if you're keeping something like this from each other.
- "Bianca, have you lost your mind?" Richard's face darkened, radiating a chilling coldness.
- His features were deep and well-defined, emanating a fierce demeanor when he kept a stern face.
- This is one of the reasons why he was able to take control of the Lincoln family at such a young age.
- "Alright, alright, I apologize.
- I had no idea that you didn’t even tell her this."
- Bianca quickly apologized, her tone, however, was one of innocence and familiarity.
- She seemed sure enough that Richard would not harm her.
- The familiar ringtone of her mobile phone suddenly rang. "Give it back to me." I stretched out my hand to retrieve my phone.
- Glancing at the caller ID, I answered the call, collecting my thoughts, "Grandpa."
- "Sophia Sophia, are you almost there?" Initially, I had wanted to get out of the car and leave. But upon hearing the kindly voice of Grandpa Lincoln, my resolve softened.
- "Almost there, Grandpa. It’s windy today, don't wait for us in the yard."
- Everyone says that Old Mr. Lincoln is strict and unbending.
- Yet, I often think, if my grandpa was still alive, he would probably only be able to treat me this kindly. ... Autumn came, days gradually became shorter.
- When the car entered the old Lincoln family estate, nightfall had already set in.
- Lanterns adorned the entire perimeter of the manor, creating a strong festive ambiance for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
- I parked and steadied the car, picked up my bag, and got out all by myself.
- Even though I reminded him over the phone, the old man was still stubbornly waiting for us in the yard.
- Over the phone, I could hide some of my emotions.
- But when face-to-face, Grandfather Lincoln saw through me at a glance.
- "Did that brat bully you?" Grandfather Lincoln's little mustache trembled as he appeared ready to stand up for me.
- "Nothing of the sort."
- Not wanting to cause Grandfather Lincoln to worry, I coaxed him into the house, "The wind is so big, it didn't give you a headache, did it?"
- Despite my cover for Richard, Grandfather Lincoln’s face fell when he saw Richard and Bianca getting out of the car almost simultaneously.
- However, as Uncle Two's family was also present, Grandpa Lincoln managed to restrain himself from erupting.
- In contrast, my father-in-law was genuinely happy to see Bianca return.
- "Richard, I heard that Bianca has started working at the company? You must take good care of her, only then can you be worthy of your Aunt Mary."
- "This was at the dinner table, I could pretend not to hear it, focusing on my dinner.
- Richard glanced at my face before he responded indifferently: "Hmm, I understand."
- " Sophia, you must also join Richard in taking good care of Bianca, it is the right thing to do."
- Once again, my father-in-law pointed a finger of blame at me, concerned that Bianca would be aggrieved at work.
- I sipped my corn juice and said nonchalantly, "Rest assured, Sister Bianca is currently my direct superior.
- I need her to look out for me."
- With my statement, diverse expressions could be seen around the dining table.
- "Sophia, as I've mentioned before, if you're unhappy, I can step down from the director's position at any time," Bianca said, embodying a mature and considerate demeanor.
- Compared to her, I seemed rather imposing and confrontational.
- My grandfather put down his teacup heavily, clearly angered, and launched a sharp remark, "Step down?
- This position rightfully belongs to Sophia! You cannot even evaluate your own worth, and yet you have the audacity to take what Richard mistakenly offered out of gratitude?"
- "Grandfather..." "Don't call me grandfather! This old man can't bear your feigned respect."
- According to my aunt, grandfather has never recognized Bianca's status.
- He was highly against her mother's entry into the family years ago.
- Nevertheless, my father-in-law stubbornly married her.
- And as a result, the family wealth was kept separate from my father-in-law, who receives only five million per year for living expenses.
- Aside from that, he has nothing.
- My father-in-law quickly said, "Father, she is alone and helpless now, why is there a need to..."
- "Shut your mouth!" yelled at my grandfather in outrage.
- Before, I only knew that Grandfather Lincoln didn't like Bianca very much.
- This was, however, the first time I've seen him publicly humiliate her.
- Bianca's face turned pale.
- She clumsily stood up, clutching her bag, "I shouldn't have come today and ruined everyone's mood."
- With that said, she ran out, crying.
- My father-in-law gave Richard a look, "Aren't you going to comfort her? She just got a divorce.
- If something happens to her, can you live with your conscience?"
- Suddenly, I had some understanding of why Richard spoiled Bianca so much.
- There's someone constantly reminding you guiltily, that you owe someone else.
- Under the long-term moral kidnapping, who can stand it? By the time Grandfather Lincoln wanted to stop him, Richard had already run after her.
- I watched his retreating figure, silently sighing. After a while, the two of them still hadn't returned.
- As Richard's wife, even if it was just for appearances, I should stand up, "Grandfather, I'll go and check on Richard."
- "Hmm."
- Grandfather Lincoln nodded and carefully told the servant, "The night is cold, fetch a coat for the young mistress."
- I stepped out of my house and saw the Maybach still parked in the yard, ready to take a look outside the mansion.
- As soon as I stepped out, I heard arguing voices.
- "What exactly do you want to do? Don't tell me that the thing you mentioned in the car, was just you being straightforward and blunt!" Richard severely questioned, pressing hard.
- I’ve only seen this side of him when he's working.
- Bianca, casting aside his usual gentle and calm demeanor, was crying and making a fuss, looking at Richard with tear-filled eyes.
- "Are you blaming me for? But I'm just jealous, I can't help myself, I'm literally dying of jealousy."
- " Bianca, she is my wife, what right do you have to be jealous?"
- Richard scoffed coldly, his tone cold and hard.
- "I'm sorry..." Bianca cried so hard that her shoulders trembled, "I'm divorced already.
- Richard, you know full well that I divorced for your sake."
