Chapter 4 If My Step Sister Is The Director Of This Company You Can Have 10% Of The Company Shares
- He agreed without any hesitation. Not a hint of doubt or indecision.
- Wrapping my arms around his neck, with a slight smile on my lips and a piercing look in my eyes, I asked, "Can you bear to give up ten percent?" His eyes are clear and tender, he replies, "It's for you, not for an outsider."
- At that moment, I had to admit that money is indeed an excellent way to express loyalty.
- The emotions I had been suppressing all afternoon could finally be released.
- As if to prove something, I asked with a smile, "What about if it was Bianca, would you give her?" He paused for a moment, then gave a definitive answer,
- "No."
- "Really?"
- "Mmm, the only thing I can give her is that position."
- Richard pulled me into his arms, with his calm and firm voice sounding above my head, "I will have John deliver the share transfer agreement this afternoon.
- From now on, you are one of the bosses of the Lincoln Family.
- Everyone else is working for you."
- "What about you?" My mood improved considerably under his assurance, and I entertained him with a smile.
- Raising his eyebrow, he asked,
- "What?"
- "Do you work for me?"
- "Of course." He chuckled, ruffled my hair, stooping over to whisper sweet nothing in my ear, "I am at your service, in and out of bed." ...
- I felt my face flush and shot him a glance.
- That's how he is—respectable, aloof, and noble on the surface, but occasionally letting slip remarks like these that could turn one's cheeks red.
- Seeing my mood brighten, he looked at his watch, "I have a meeting to attend.
- Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, we have to go home for dinner with grandpa tonight.
- I'll wait for you in the parking lot."
- "Got it." Naturally, I wouldn't refuse him. With that in mind, I made up my mind.
- "Honey, there's a surprise for you tonight."
- A few days ago, he deceived me about the necklace, leaving me unsure whether or not to tell him about my pregnancy.
- Since he could distinguish between me and Bianca, I should not hide it anymore.
- "What surprise?" His curiosity was piqued, and he wanted to get to the bottom of it.
- "I'll tell you after work, wait for me!"
- I stood on my tiptoes, left a kiss on his lips, then ignored him.
- After he left, I completely calmed down and focused on my design sketch.
- After an unknown period of time, the door of the office was knocked once again.
- Without raising my head, I said,
- "Come in." "Sophia, did I disturb you?"
- Bianca's gentle and pleasant voice came.
- "You're a bit of a bother." I said bluntly.
- When working on design drafts, I dislike being interrupted.
- Bianca's expression turned awkward for a moment, yet she mustered up the courage to continue,
- "I apologize, I didn't mean to. I just recently found out that the position of Design Director should have been yours.
- I unintentionally took what belonged to you, so I wanted to apologize.”
- "It's alright." Richard had already compensated me.
- Ten percent of the shares, even if I worked as a Design Director for hundreds of generations, I couldn't earn that much money.
- Perhaps my aloof and easygoing attitude took her by surprise.
- "Are you sure it's alright? If it makes you uncomfortable, you can tell me. I can move to another department.
- Don't let this upset you."
- She sauntered over and comfortably sat down next to the sofa.
- "Sister Bianca, I'm not unhappy, please stay in the design department."
- Stop stirring things up everywhere.
- I'm afraid that not long after the shares come into my hands, she would cause the company to go bankrupt.
- In the design department, at least I can hold the fort.
- "That's good.
- We are a family, if you have any emotional distress, talk to me, don't keep it in your heart."
- Bianca, like a considerate older sister, tucks her long hair behind her ears and gently says, "After all, Richard said the company's positions are there for me to choose from.
- I haven't worked in so many years, it doesn't matter what department I go to."
- I wonder if I'm just overly sensitive.
- Or something.
- This piece of conversation doesn't sit well with me no matter how I process it.
- It's as if, she's the closest person to Richard, and she's the lady boss of Lincoln Group.
- "Director Sophia" John, seeing the door open, knocks symbolically, walks in and hands the agreement to me, "There are two copies, please review it.
- The president has already signed. Sign and keep one copy with you."
- Richard indeed says and does as he promises.
- "Okay."
- I flip open the agreement, quickly skim through it, efficiently sign my own name, hand back a copy to John, and smile politely: "Thank you for your effort."
- "This is a share transfer agreement?" Bianca seems to have caught a glimpse of the agreement cover.
- From my blind corner, her previously calm and graceful demeanor is shattered, her nails deeply dig into her flesh.
- Only then does John look back, somewhat surprised, "Oh, Director Bianca is also here?
- You two continue chatting, I need to report back to the president."
- He completely ignores answering Bianca's question.
- "I'll take my leave now."
- A look of disbelief was mixed in Bianca's eyes, "Richard gave you shares?"
- "No matter what it is, I believe it's unnecessary to report such things to Director Bianca, right?"
- Following the incident with the necklace, I can't quite explain my feelings towards her.
- In any case, it's hard to maintain a peaceful coexistence as before.
- "Sophia, I can't help but feel some malice from you..."
- Bianca stood up helplessly, "I don't know if it's due to the necklace incident or this promotion, but whatever caused your resentment towards me, please believe that I never intended to seize those things from you."
- "I'm not even interested in these things," she responded.
- Looking at her frank demeanor, my emotions were a mess. ...
- As evening approached, I placed the pregnancy test I had dug out from the cake two days ago into my bag
- . I planned to tell Richard as soon as I went downstairs - he was going to be a father.
- He and I, we were going to have a child. Thinking of his reaction, and the little life inside me, even my steps became slightly lighter.
- I was increasingly eager to share this surprise with him.
- The elevator reached the underground parking lot, and I easily found the black Maybach.
- Richard's tall and lean figure was leaning against the car, waiting for me patiently.
- I threw myself into his arms, the scent of woody cologne unique to him filled my nostrils,
- "Honey! Have you been waiting long?" "Mm."
- He didn't hug me as he usually would, instead, he seemed somewhat awkward as he pushed me away,
- "Let's get in the car first."
- "Hold on, let me tell you what the surprise is."
- I grabbed hold of him.
- "What is it?" He seemed less excited about it than he had been at the office in the afternoon, appearing somewhat distracted. I frowned slightly, but didn't think much of it.
- Looking deeply into his dark eyes, I said seriously, "Richard, you're going to be..." " Richard, why aren't you guys getting in the car yet?"
- The passenger side window suddenly rolled down, cutting me off with words of impatience.
- From where I was standing, I had direct eye contact with Bianca, who was sitting inside the car.
- I looked at Richard in astonishment, hoping for an explanation.
- But Bianca spoke before he did, speaking in a soft and subtle manner, "Sophia, I sent my car for maintenance and since we're all heading back to the old house, I took the liberty to hitch a ride with Richard.
- I'm sure you wouldn't mind such a trivial matter, right?"
