• Blair dashed out only to encounter Susan after a few steps. She was being assisted by Mary as she stepped out of the house, and upon seeing Blair approaching, she beamed. "I'm so glad to see you two so affectionate. It's time I return to the family home."
• Blair's cheeks flushed crimson, her eyes moist with the unmistakable look of being bullied. She couldn't understand how Susan interpreted their interaction as affection at all.
• Mary winked at Blair, her gaze scanning the mimosa trees ahead.
