• Never in her wildest dreams did she expect to hear Lucas's voice ever again after their divorce. At that time, it felt like somebody had poured a bucket of ice-cold water right on her head. She could feel the strong coldness creeping from her head down to her toes. Her heartbeat changed, and it was pounding like there was a rumble.
• Almost no words came out of her mouth because of the nervousness she was feeling at that time—more of a surprise mixed with anger that she was thinking of hurting the person on the other side of the line.
