Chapter 11 Make Him Unsuspecting

  • "Are you guys up to something with me?" Damian asked, his eyes wide open and teeth bared.
  • Mia swallowed nervously.
  • "You deliberately accepted a deal with me to get revenge. And behind that, you have Stella and Mr. Marvin helping you," Damian said.
  • "I only found out about Stella and Mr. Marvin's relationship this morning, and I told them about our deal," Mia replied. "Stella was furious at me, then revealed that the debt had already been paid by Mr. Marvin."
  • Damian's brows furrowed. "So?"
  • "This morning we met with Mr. Marvin, and asked for his help in canceling the deal with you. Unfortunately, that damn Marvin didn't want to help because the deal was already signed, it would be very difficult to cancel it. He was afraid you would demand a lot from him later," Mia said, pretending to be annoyed.
  • "So he won't help you?" asked Damian.
  • "No!" replied Mia, looking annoyed. She sat back with her arms folded under her chest. "He said he's already spent a lot of money paying off the debt to Mr. William and the apartment. So he doesn't want to spend any more money to cancel my deal with you."
  • "He's a cheapskate too," Damian smiled sadly.
  • "Now you know what you wanted to know and I've answered it. Do you want to cancel the deal with me?"
  • "You want to cancel this deal?" asked Damian.
  • "Of course! If only I knew the debt was paid, I wouldn't have agreed to this crazy deal," said Mia. "Marry you? I never imagined it at all! I agreed to the deal because I'd get shares, the debt would be paid off, and I'd be able to live a carefree life. In fact, the debt has already been paid."
  • "I'm afraid I'm going to keep the deal, darling," Damian said with a smile. "I'm going to marry you anyway."
  • "Damn it!"
  • Damian smiled.
  • "Then keep paying the money you promised to settle the debt. Transfer it to my account. I'll use it for shopping. I haven't enjoyed life in a long time!"
  • "Okay, I'll still give you the money later," Damian said.
  • "I want it now! Or I'll leave you, so that the wedding doesn't happen. I still have a little savings to escape with. I'll ask Stella for more later."
  • "You're threatening me?"
  • "Yes, I'm threatening you! You also promised to pay the debt today. Since the debt has been paid, now give me the money."
  • Damian smirked. "You really are different from your sister." He picked up the cell phone on the table and fiddled with it to transfer some money to Mia, then handed the phone to her. "Enter your account number."
  • Mia smiled, took the phone, and entered her account number. "This is nice," she said, giving the phone back to Damian.
  • "Stella is so innocent and nice. She's stupid enough not to realize that I'm actually an enemy. But you? Completely different. All you think about is money, money, and money!"
  • "Well, life does require money, doesn't it?" Mia gave Damian a sardonic look. "But it's true, Stella is so stupid! She'd rather be chased than ask her lover for help. If only she'd talked to her boyfriend about the debt, things wouldn't be the way they are now. I don't know what's in her brain, I don't know how she thinks. She could have just asked Mr. Marvin for help with the debt in the first place. I wouldn't have had to agree with you either."
  • Mia stared at Damian with an annoyed and angry look on her face, hoping that Damian would believe everything she said.
  • "She has too much pride!" Mia said again.
  • Damian paused, thinking that maybe Stella had kept quiet and not asked Mr. Marvin for help because she didn't want to be a bother. During his relationship with her, Damian knew quite well how his ex-girlfriend behaved. Stella was the type of person who didn't want to trouble others, she would try to solve her own problems.
  • "Have I wasted a sincere person? Why can't I bear to hear that she's with someone else? Did my hatred for her turn into love? Oh, why does she have to be a good person? Tsk! No-no, Damian, you can't be weak. Take your revenge!" Damian thought.
  • "Why the silence?" asked Mia.
  • Damian immediately looked at Mia. "Hm? No... it's okay."
  • "Anyway, how did you find out about Mr. Marvin's girlfriend? I just found out today," Mia asked.
  • "William," Damian replied.
  • "Mr. William?"
  • "Yes, from him," Damian replied with a flat face. "William was angry with me because the contract between his company and Esther was canceled."
  • "Wah..." Mia nodded.
  • "I thought it was you, and didn't expect it to be Stella. It wasn't that long ago that she and I ended our relationship, but she's already moved on. Yikes!" Damian smirked. "She must have told Mr. Marvin to blame me because she holds a grudge against me."
  • "I hold the same grudge against you. Aren't you afraid that I'll kill you someday? After marriage, I'm going to live with you, right? Bringing enemies into your house, aren't you afraid?"
  • "What am I afraid of a woman for? Seriously." Damian chuckled softly.
  • "Don't underestimate a woman. I can do things you haven't even thought of."
  • "Stab me while I'm asleep? Poison me? Or what? Tell me," Damian smiled again. "Killing me will only land you in prison, then what will you achieve? A fortune? No way. Your life will end up in prison."
  • Mia's hands clenched into tight fists. "Death is too good for you, Damian, I'll make you go back to where you came from!" she shouted inside.
  • "Why the silence? What I said is true, isn't it?" asked Damian, still smiling.
  • "Phew!" Mia snorted sarcastically. "There's nothing more to discuss, is there? Then I'll go home first," she said, getting up from her seat.
  • "Okay," Damian replied.
  • Mia rolled her eyes lazily, then turned around and walked towards the door.
  • "Take care, darling. Sorry, I can't take you home. I'm busy," Damian half-shouted.
  • Mia glared sarcastically, ignoring Damian.
