Chapter 40

• Kaivan blinked his eyes. Gathering all the awareness he had, the man slowly sat up and leaned his shoulder against the headboard of the bed. Last night, after taking his medicine, he had fallen into a deep sleep. Even though his condition had improved significantly, the doctor still advised Kaivan to continue taking the medication for the next few weeks.
• Glancing at the clock on the nightstand, which showed seven o'clock, Kaivan gradually slid down from the bed. Today, he had planned to start working again as usual. He also felt it was boring to spend too much time in bed.
• After cleaning up, Kaivan quickly put on work clothes. However, in the midst of his preparations, his sense of smell unintentionally caught the aroma of a tempting meal. Kaivan thought that Meggy had probably just finished preparing breakfast for him.
