Chapter 1

  • Kaivan Maximilian, a figure widely recognized by almost all residents of London, is a successful young entrepreneur in the hospitality sector.
  • Kaivan is publicly known as a playboy who frequently changes partners. Often, he has been caught in intimate situations with numerous women, including models and rising actresses.
  • Kaivan was having lunch with his younger brother, Kenzi Maximilian, one afternoon. Deep in conversation, he was suddenly startled by the unexpected arrival of a beautiful woman he had never encountered before.
  • "Kaivan! There you are. I've been searching for you," the woman exclaimed.
  • Kaivan paused his meal, turning towards the source of the voice. His confused expression revealed his uncertainty in response to the woman's words.
  • "Wait a moment, do you know me?" Kaivan squinted, wondering about the woman's identity. "Why are you looking for me? Have we encountered any issues before?" he asked, perplexed.
  • The beautiful woman narrowed her eyes, studying Kaivan with an inscrutable expression.
  • "Have you forgotten who I am?" she inquired.
  • Kaivan furrowed his brow, his mind attempting to recall any prior interactions with the woman. Despite his efforts, he ultimately gave up.
  • "To be honest, I truly don't recognize you," Kaivan admitted.
  • The woman let out a slight sigh, her frustration becoming evident.
  • "Are you seriously telling me you don't remember me? Aren't you the man who got me pregnant?"
  • "What?!" Kaivan, Kenzi, and Alma, who were all listening, reacted in shock. Their simultaneous expressions of astonishment left them speechless.
  • Sitting beside Kaivan, Kenzi shot his brother a stern look. "Kai, is it true that you've impregnated this woman?"
  • Kaivan responded with a dismissive snort, irritated by the accusation. He refused to accept such a claim. "Do you think it's possible for me to impregnate a woman who isn't my wife?"
  • Kenzi fell silent, doubtful that his older brother would impregnate a woman without official ties. Their family held marriage in high regard.
  • Both Kenzi and Kaivan were raised to respect women's honour. Despite their playboy reputation, they never brought their dates home or engaged in casual affairs, especially for Kaivan, who avoided bringing women home.
  • Turning his attention back to the woman, Kaivan locked eyes with her. He stared directly into her blue irises as she maintained her pregnancy claim.
  • "I'm confident you've mistaken me for someone else. I truly don't know you. It's been a while since I've been in a relationship. Your accusations are misplaced."
  • The woman shook her head persistently, standing by her previous statement. "No, I'm certain it's you. You're Kaivan Maximilian, right? Furthermore, I possess evidence of our encounter. I can show you."
  • Now Alma took charge of the conversation, feeling compelled to intervene. "Let's continue this conversation at home, Kai. Can't you see that people around us are watching?"
  • Kaivan glanced around, surveying the curious onlookers. Indeed, some restaurant guests were intrigued by the situation near their table.
  • "Do I have to take her to my place?" Kaivan asked sceptically.
  • "Let's take her to your hotel," Alma suggested.
  • With a nonchalant expression, Kaivan agreed to Alma's proposal. He would bring the unfamiliar woman to his hotel.
  • ***:
  • Four Seasons Hotel, London, UK.
  • "Miss, I don't want to mince words anymore. What is your real purpose in accusing me of impregnating you?" asked Kaivan shortly after they had gathered in his office.
  • The woman smiled at everyone. Her demeanour was very relaxed as if she didn't feel that Kaivan was currently intimidating her with all the questions and doubts.
  • "Before we go any further, I should introduce myself first. My name is Anna Maria; you all can call me Anne. I don't want to say too much. It's better for you to just look at the evidence I've brought with me now."
  • Then Anne gave Kaivan the cell phone she was carrying, intending to show evidence that could answer all the questions filling the man's head.
  • The cellphone clearly shows CCTV footage of an incident about two months ago, where Kaivan attended a party at a nightclub on the outskirts of London. There, Kaivan was seen drinking with his friends. Then, not long after that, the man staggered towards a room accompanied by a woman, and the CCTV footage stopped after they entered the room.
  • "Is this all?" asked Kaivan.
  • "You can swipe the screen of the cellphone that you are holding. After the recording, there is more evidence that I have kept," said Anne.
  • Kaivan obeyed the woman's orders by swiping the screen of his cell phone. A group of photos showed Kaivan sleeping in bed with a woman. Their position was even very intimate because it was clear that Kaivan was not wearing an upper garment, and neither was the woman.
  • Kaivan shook his head in disbelief. Once again, he needed to figure out what he was seeing. Curious, Kenzi grabbed the cell phone that Kaivan was holding and looked at the evidence one by one.
  • "You really slept with him, Kai!" accused Kenzi.
  • Kaivan rubbed his face roughly.
  • "For God's sake, I don't feel like sleeping with her, Ken. Especially getting her pregnant. This woman must have set me up, or she could just be lying to all of us."
  • Kaivan looked closely at Anne's face again.
  • "What is your real purpose in doing this? Do you want money? If so, I can give it to you. But stop accusing me of things I didn't do at all!"
  • Anne laughed wryly at Kaivan.
  • "Money? Do you think I'm doing this because I need money? In case you've forgotten, I even drove a two-million-pound sports car to get to your hotel here."
  • "Then what do you want?"
  • "I just want you to take responsibility! If you still don't believe it, we can go to the hospital right now to check if I'm pregnant or not. But first, you have to make sure no paparazzi are following you. Doesn't your reputation also matter? After all, who doesn't know Kaivan Maximilian in this country?"
  • Kaivan was silent. His hands were now gently massaging his forehead, which had suddenly ached. His heart was still wondering about the meaning behind all of this.
  • Seeing his brother so frustrated, Kenzi immediately pulled Kaivan closer to where she was standing.
  • "It might be better to let this woman stay with you for a while, Kai," whispered Kenzi.
  • Kaivan gasped at Kenzi's suggestion.
  • "Seriously, I have to live with someone I don't even know? How can I be sure that she won't turn out to be a terrorist, secret agent, fugitive, or maybe a spy for my rival?" Kaivan whispered back.
  • "But you also can't let her roam outside. How do you know if she's carrying your child? You also can't guarantee that the woman won't talk to the public. I don't mind if your reputation is ruined, but you must think about Mama's and Papa's feelings, Kai!"
  • Kaivan growled. Everything looked chaotic in his eyes at this moment. Kenzi was right. Letting the woman go didn't eliminate the possibility that the public would find out about all the scandals she had caused. No one cares about the truth in the news. On the other hand, Kaivan couldn't just bring a woman he didn't know to live with him.
  • "Then what should I do?" asked Kaivan, frustrated.
  • Kenzi seemed to think momentarily, then said, "Let's have that woman stay with you for a while, but I suggest you also investigate her background. You can use Hans' expertise to discover the motive behind all this."
  • "Are you two finished discussing this?" asked Anne, who had felt neglected by the two brothers who were busy talking.
  • Kaivan stepped forward to approach the position where Anne was sitting.
  • "Fine, for the time being, you can stay with me. I'll wait until the baby you claim is mine is born. If, in the end, the child is born and it's proven to be mine, I promise I'll take full responsibility."
  • Anne threw a smile at Kaivan.
  • "Well, can I believe what you're saying?"
  • Kaivan smiled wryly at Anne.
  • "A man is known by his words. I was raised to stand by what I say or promise. Even now, I'm concerned that what you're saying may not be trustworthy."
  • Anne laughed at Kaivan's words, still doubting her declaration.
  • "It's up to you, but for now, I'll thank my future husband. Apart from being handsome, you are evidently very responsible."
  • Kaivan chuckled heartily at Anne's demeanour. A moment later, he turned around, picked up the phone from the desk, and dialled someone.
  • "Mike, come to my room now," he ordered.
  • After a short while, two knocks on the door were heard, and then a young man wearing a neat suit walked in and approached Kaivan.
  • "Put this woman in the Presidential Suite with me. Also, tell Meggy to prepare everything she needs. Treat her like a VVIP guest. Keep an eye on her, and don't forget to station bodyguards outside the room."
  • The man named Mike, who wasn't Kaivan's secretary, nodded and approached Anne, who was still seated on the sofa. "You can come with me, Miss," he invited.
  • Anne followed Mike's lead toward the room she would be staying in. Meanwhile, Kaivan remained speechless. Observing this, Kenzi turned back to her brother.
  • "You should be happy to be a soon-to-be father, Kai. That means Rapha will have a playmate in the near future. Besides, she's quite attractive, just your type."
  • Kaivan shook his head, disagreeing with what his sister said.
  • "This isn't a joke, Ken. How else can I explain that I don't even know that woman? No matter how drunk I've been, I've never slept with someone I just met."
  • Kenzi chuckled at Kaivan's response. She felt sorry for her brother, who appeared overwhelmed by the problems that had befallen him. Despite his years as a playboy, Kaivan had never been involved in a scandal like this before.
  • "Call Hans right now. Ask him to investigate the future mother of your child. While waiting for news, treat her well. After all, she's a woman who needs protection."
  • Kaivan took a breath so deep that, without realizing it, his shoulders rose dramatically. He felt so claustrophobic at this moment.
  • "I'll try to follow all of your advice. Please keep this secret. I just don't want Mama to find out. It's very dangerous for her health."
  • "For that one, you don't need to worry. The most important thing is to solve your problem quickly." Kenzi patted Kaivan's shoulder lightly, then left her brother alone in his office.
  • Kaivan looked straight out the window. Closing his eyes for a moment, he tried to remember the events of that night. He attempted to piece together the fragments of memory that revealed incident after incident. However, it didn't take long for him to growl in annoyance again, as he remembered none of it.
  • "Kaivan Maximilian marries an unknown woman? Come on, Kai! Handsome businessman and classmate Kaivan Maximilian marries a woman from nowhere, whose origins are unclear."
  • Kaivan shook his head multiple times, trying to rid his brain of all the disturbing thoughts filling it.
