Chapter 4 Rebellion

  • MADDOX JAMES
  • "Pack up, we are going to California." Charlie, out of the blue, announced. His gleaming eyes told me that there was definitely a catch out there for him to feed his power on.
  • "Have you forgotten about the gang here?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
  • Charlie rolled his eyes. "I remember them, they are weak. They can't retaliate anymore. They are just a bunch of horny teenagers that just want to do weak shit. We want the real deal." He smirked in mischief when he stressed on the last two words as he patted my chest.
  • "The real deal is that I left that bitchy stripper with marks on and her brother wants to fight me." I retorted at Charlie, who rolled his eyes again, probably wanting to find his brain in his head. The thing about Charlie was that he never, ever asked me what my opinion was about his big plan to ditch and run.
  • "Come on, Californian girls are so much hotter." Charlie lifted the elegant glass of red wine to me and I lifted mine too.
  • After that little fun, I had yesterday night, I was 100% sure that her brother, which was the leader of the gang, wanted to fight me but he was nowhere in sight. It was like he disappeared through thin air. I asked everyone I knew and they replied with "probably with some girl" since everyone knew he liked to play girls like candies.
  • Tipping my head back, I let the red wine seep down my throat in one fluid motion and refilled it. After that party yesterday, I had a heavy hunch of doubt about the surroundings of the leader, I knew he was planning something to attack me unexpectedly. I wasn't born yesterday.
  • I was always ready.
  • "So you made me sleep with her when she was of no use to us?" I questioned as Charlie raised his hands up in mock surrender and winked.
  • "That was your choice. I better get packing and you should too." he reminded me.
  • "Wait, you didn't tell me about your plan," I informed him but he only chuckled and told me it was a good new plan from afar. His deep voice coated the Persian walls and the long plush red carpet. We had a very nice house as I strolled around the spacey living room and looked out of the window.
  • California was definitely going to be my kind of fun. Charlie and I had always been a support package: he helped me out and I helped him out. He was the only family figure in my life. When he said we were going to California, we were going to California and that's that.
  • My dark predatory grey eyes swept the entire neighborhood. It was sickening how it was all filled with filth and destruction. It was like we weren't in the best part of Michigan. It oozed death everywhere. I wasn't afraid of death, I was not afraid of anything at all.
  • Some girl groups passed by the neighbor with small skirts and crop tops giggling when they saw me on the balcony looking out at the region. I winked at them with a lopsided smile as their eyes took in my bare tattooed torso with defined eight packs and hung sweatpants that showed my taut V-line.
  • One thing was for sure, I hated brunettes because most of them usually were angels in suits. I preferred blondes. Trailing my eyes to each girl out of the five, four were brunette except the flirtatious bad blonde haired girl that winked back at me.
  • A slap on my back showed that I was taken off guard by Charlie that had a smug knowing smirk on, his eyes traveling down to the girls who stopped to take in my glory. Charlie waved them off like they were bugs to be rid off.
  • "Why did you ruin my fun?" I seethed at him in annoyance. He chuckled at my impatience.
  • "We have a flight to catch. You can have your fun there." Charlie answered with amusement as he sent a wink my way and told me to pack now.
  • I huffed irritatedly and packed all the things I needed in my blue shoulder bag. I hoped that arriving in California would be worth all the devilish plans here.
  • Slicking back my hair with my hand, I followed Charlie as we both headed out to catch our flight. It was still 1:00 pm in the afternoon but Charlie couldn't contain his excitement.
  • If anyone knew Charlie like I knew Charlie, they would know that the moment his eyes glinted, unexpected surprises would blow up in front of them. He was the improvising person and he liked messing with people's stuff.
  • The plane was filled with waitresses in tight devouring skirts and button-up shirts that constricted their chest, just the way I liked it.
  • "I'm beginning to like this plane," I commented as my eyes took in the blushing waitress's appearance when she passed by to check the seats.
  • "I'm sure you do, Madds, you're still a young single man," Charlie said in a relaxed tone as he leaned back to rest. It was no surprise that we took the business class seats since Charlie was filthy rich from all the gangs' bets on me. "I'm sure once you find a girl that ties you in, you'll miss all of that and I will get to enjoy it," he muttered, sweeping his hair to the side with his hand as he carelessly took a drink from his water bottle.
  • I scoffed. "I'm never going to be tied to a girl, I am happy with the way I am."
  • "Don't say things you can't have control on." he teased with amused eyes. I was successfully taunted.
  • "Not happening."
  • "Yes, it will-"
  • "No, it won't."
  • "Yes, it-"
  • Before he continued, his eyes darkened and he was tight-lipped. Turning to the direction that he stared at, I figured the shape of the guy who was nearing us.
  • It was Tyler Sanders. The stripper's brother.
