• Lynn had been silent, and Ron had disappeared after he let me go last night. It felt like a game, two men playing me around just to keep their long-lasting feud going. Ron had been so petty last night with the call but then my head had been so foggy to even push him away.
• Now, I had escaped the house so early, treading the path back to my apartment, and slowly, my stomach started to sink. I would admit that Ron was a distraction from all that happened and if not for his hands over me, then I would have broken down in tears.
