Chapter 3 Cold Water

  • “I was just passing by. No need to ask me for reasons.” Fu Hanyu grinned lightly. His low voice was deeply seductive under the beautiful night sky.
  • Jian Man's heart dropped at his answer. The wedding was held on a private cruise belonging to the Shangguan family, and he was telling her he just happened to pass by?
  • That will only be possible if you are floating across the sea like a ghost!
  • Plus, the Fu family was the most powerful among all the wealthy business families. They were so powerful that all the upper-class family clans had to bend their necks and look up towards them. He had no reason to meddle with such a petty wedding.
  • “If you demand an answer from me, then the only reason of my attendance was to witness your pitiful state.”
  • Even without looking at his face, the girl knew that the sides of his lips must be crooked upwards in a teasing smile.
  • Both of them had been natural enemies since they had known each other.
  • “Shut up. I've no mood to let you pour cold water over me.” Jian Man kicked him with her heels, causing the man to grunt in pain, which made her feel much better.
  • Fu Hanyu had carried her away from the wedding venue to another deck. The silvery moonlight shone on her reddened face, which further enhanced her striking beauty.
  • For as long as he had known her, he had never encountered this coy and obedient side of Jian Man.
  • Fu Hanyu turned to the other side of the deck, where another luxurious private yacht docked.
  • “Jian Man, let me get a basin of cold water.” Fu Hanyu tried to pry away Jian Man's snake-like arms.
  • However, Jian Man pouted her lips and hummed weakly in displeasure, “Don't leave me.”
  • Fu Hanyu looked down at the girl, his hands hooked on her chin as he spoke in his husky voice, “Do you know who I am?”
  • His words made the girl laugh bitterly.
  • “I'm not stupid, Fu Hanyu. Do you think I'll still take you as Shangguan Li when he had wounded me?” Jian Man closed her eyes forcefully. Today was his wedding day, the day he married another lady. For ten years she had been with him, yet his bride was not her.
  • Seeing the bitterness in her eyes, a dangerous glint flashed across Fu Hanyu's eyes as he flung her arms away from him. “That's your business. Settle it yourself.”
  • The man stood up to leave when he heard a loud crash, causing him to turn around.
  • Jian Man had lost her balance and fallen off the bed. Her forehead was swollen from hitting herself.
