Chapter 3 Women Are So Troublesome

  • After the scarred man led Cindy and Ian into the dark cave, he shouted, “Arthur, Brad, I’m back!”
  • Hearing that, a tall, bald man with a sever face walked out. "Why did you bring strangers back, Chad?”
  • “Arthur, look! She’s Desmond Jones’ daughter. We’re going to make a fortune this time. Isn’t it great?”the scarred man, whose name was Chad, said excitedly.
  • “Well, she looks more beautiful in real person than in the photo!" Brad, Chad’s second elder brother, with a pair of dark evil eyes, was drooling over Cindy’s long legs behind Arthur.
  • "Chad, what about him?” Brad frowned when he saw Ian.
  • “Don’t worry. He’s my chauffeur, an idiot who drove me back. I’m going to kill him and sell his organs for a good price at the black market later,” Chad replied frankly. After all, he had escaped from the police and had no reason to pretend anymore.
  • “What? Why… did you… want to kill me? Didn't you ask me… to come with you… to get the money?" Ian was confused.
  • “Haha! I'm a murderer and a kidnapper. Do you expect I’ll keep my word after I escaped? Keep quiet, brat! Or I’ll kill you now!” Chad scowled and kicked Ian.
  • Ian could not help but stagger a few steps backward. He crouched in a corner and remained quiet.
  • “You too! Go over there and crouch beside him!” Chad pushed Cindy in Ian’s direction.
  • Brad brought ropes and tied Ian and Cindy up. After that, he signaled Arthur and Chad out of the cave. It seemed that they were plotting something.
  • Right then, Ian stretched his neck and yawned. "It seems that we can't go anywhere for the time being. I’m gonna sleep for a while. Wake me up if they come back for my organs.”
  • “What? Are you a pig? How can you sleep in such a situation?” Cindy was anxious. She had no idea what was on Ian’s mind. It must be a miracle that he remained alive until now.
  • The three kidnappers were whispering at the entrance of the cave, discussing something. Ian and Cindy could not hear them.
  • It seemed that the three kidnappers wanted to head down the mountain. However, before they left, they blocked the cave with a few big boulders.
  • Hearing footsteps gradually fading away, Cindy gave Ian a nudge. “Hey, wake up! Let’s find a way out!”
  • If it weren’t for the boulders blocking the cave, Cindy would not even wake Ian up. She needed Ian’s help to move the rocks.
  • Ian did not even move. “Don’t bother. They’ll be back soon!” he said affirmatively.
  • “Nonsense! They just left, and we must get out of here now! Hurry up!” Cindy cried helplessly. Nonetheless, she felt like she was talking to a brick wall. Ian did not seem to understand what she meant.
  • Ian closed his eyes without even trying to argue. “I don’t care if you believe me! I’m going to take a nap first.”
  • “Aren't you scared at all?” Cindy almost burst into tears, seeing Ian refuse to help her. She could not help cursing in her heart. It was really a mishap for her to meet a man like Ian.
  • Cindy struggled to loosen the ropes, but it was all in vain. She stared at the cave entrance helplessly, hoping the police would find them soon.
  • About ten minutes later, a boulder at the entrance of the cave was moved away. Brad took a glance inside and warned, “Don’t you dare try to run away, or I'll kill you at once.”
  • After saying that, Brad closed the cave entrance with the boulder again.
  • “Hey, wake up! I’m sure they left this time. Go and move the boulders away so that we can get out of here!” Cindy poked Ian with her elbow.
  • After all, Ian was a man and must be stronger. If he could move the boulders, they could run away.
  • “Why don't you do it yourself? They are sitting outside. I'm not risking my life.” Ian opened his eyes. He was annoyed with Cindy’s questions.
  • “Nonsense! They won't be coming back anytime soon. You’re just a coward! Don’t try to fool me!” What Ian said sounded ridiculous to Cindy.
  • Ian did not want to quarrel with her. He closed his eyes and continued to sleep.
  • “Damn it! What a buffoon!” Cindy turned around. However, when she wanted to chide Ian again, she saw that Ian’s hands were on his ears. She was stunned. “Wait a minute! Why aren't you tied up? When did you free yourself?”
  • Although Ian's back faced her, Cindy remembered clearly that Brad tied both of them up. How did Ian free himself?
  • “Just give me a break. Can I sleep for half an hour please?” Ian sighed.
  • “Untie me too, or I won’t let you sleep.” Although Cindy did not believe Ian could untie the rope himself, now that he was free, he could untie her too.
  • "I'm tired. I'll help you later.” After saying that, Ian lay on the ground and began to snore like a pig.
  • “No! Wake up!” Cindy was not a hot-tempered person, but she was boiling with anger after meeting Ian.
  • Seeing Ian sleeping soundly, Cindy bit her lip furiously, but there was nothing she could do. She only hope Ian would keep his promise to untie her when he woke up.
  • A few minutes later, Ian opened his eyes and looked at Cind as if he had something to say.
  • “Are you awake?" Cindy was excited seeing Ian awake. “Untie me then!”
  • However, it seemed that Ian had no plan of getting up. “The floor is too cold. Can I sleep on your lap?” Ian raised his head slightly and stared at Cindy’s legs.
  • “What? What did you say?” Cindy glared at Ian. In fact, she wanted to rip Ian’s skull open to see what was wrong with his brain.
  • “Too bad. I was thinking to sleep for 20 minutes, but if the floor is too cold, I might sleep for 2 hours.” Ian muttered and closed his eyes again.
  • “Go to hell!” Cindy shrieked as her face turned red. Not only Ian was an idiot, but he was also a lecher.
  • Ian was snoring again, and Cindy was so mad that she wanted to kill him on the spot. How could he sleep in a situation like this? she wondered.
  • Suddenly, Cindy felt someone staring at her from a crack between the boulders. She panicked right away. It was Brad, drooling while ogling at her beautiful face.
  • Damn it! Cindy cursed, glancing over at Ian who was still sound asleep. He’s not a man. He's even worse than my dog. At least my dog will bite the bad guy to protect me.
  • The more Cindy thought about it, the more disappointed she felt. Tears began streaming down her cheeks.
  • Right then, Ian was muttering. “Women are so troublesome!”
  • "It's all your fault!" Cindy could not help but sob.
  • "What did I do?” Ian was speechless. However, he stretched out his hand and untied Cindy’s hands.
  • “I’m going to sleep for 10 minutes. Can I sleep on your lap now?” Ian asked.
  • Cindy was amazed at how Ian untied the rope so easily. However, she was still wondering if Ian was a fool. Otherwise, how could a normal person sleep in such a situation?
  • Even though she was free, Cindy did not dare to go out of the cave. Brad had a gun, and she was scared to go out alone.
  • Perhaps it was Cindy’s destiny to stay with Ian. She could not help gritting her teeth. It seemed that she could only count on Ian now. She had no choice but to straighten her skirt. “Just 10 minutes! Not more than that!”
