Chapter 1 Grandmaster's Return

• Beads of sweat could be seen trickling down a woman's neck in a dimly lit warm room.
• "No… No…" An angry murmur could be heard echoing throughout the room.
• Huff!
• Suddenly, Skylar Stone was startled awake as he noticed the concerned look on an air-stewardess' face as soon as he woke up.
• It seemed that he had dreamed the same peculiar dream or more accurately a vivid memory again.
• The memory turned out to be how Skylar was ambushed and drugged by someone while he was on a secret mission. In order to keep innocent women safe, he desperately clung onto what little rational thought he had left to leave the crowd before finally passing out in some bushes behind a mansion.
• All he had to do was stay put for the night and he would be fine the next morning. However, fate decided to pull a prank on him. Apparently, he was found and rescued by the girl who lived in the mansion.
• However, as soon as he was startled awake, he lost control and shoved the girl on the ground before violating her.
• When Skylar finally regained his senses, he realized that his enemies were still at large and was worried about getting the girl's family involved in his mess, so he left immediately without saying a word.
• However, a war broke out at the Northern borders after he had completed his mission. It turned out that the Northern borders were invaded by hundreds of thousands of enemy troops.
• So, Skylar rushed to the frontlines to defend his country. It was a brutal war back then. The struggles he faced during the battle made Skylar frown.
• However, he was deeply bothered whenever he thought about the blood-stained sheets.
• There was nothing he could do to forget about the memory.
• Since he could not leave his post back then, he ordered his assistant general to look for the girl from the mansion. He swore to give her a lifetime of glory after he had made a name for himself.

• Although she was not exactly the most beautiful looking woman in the picture, she was quite attractive herself.
• It seemed that Skylar had spent the last five years imagining a peaceful life with the girl in Cloutopia while staring at her picture.
• That was exactly why he decided to retire and live a simple life after the peace treaty was signed. It turned out that not only did he want to repay his parents for raising him, he desperately wanted to propose to that girl and fulfill the promise he made to her all those years ago…
• Meanwhile at Cloudtopia international airport.
• "Hurry! Get in line, quick!"
• A woman was leading a group of more than ten men could be heard saying that as they rushed to the exit.
• None of them were dressed the same as some were in suits while others were in uniform. However, every single one of them stomped their feets in unison as they knew that someone extremely powerful would arrive in Cloudtopia soon.
• Everyone else moved away from the group as they were not sure who was coming to warrant such a flashy display.
• Soon, Skylar strode out of the airport confidently.
• "Sir, the higher ups have scheduled your retirement ceremony to be held in two days. So, according to the agreement signed, all of your wealth and power will be restored on that day. Oh and the districts of Nirth, Dracovia and Midtown are yours to rule. Courtesy of the higher ups."
• The armor-clad woman came forward and handed Skylar a document before saying, "Sir, these are the details of the three districts that I mentioned earlier. Please have a look."
• After a simple glance, Skylar asked, "Have you sent the wedding invitation to my Fiancée, Yvonne Sue yet?"
• "It was given to her yesterday," The armor-clad woman replied.
• Skylar nodded and said, "I want her to know that her man isn't just some no name simple footsoldier. No, I want her to know that her man is the literal god of war and has wealth that could easily rival a country in two days!"
• "Sir, I found out that Ms. Sue is on a date with a spoiled rich brat in a cafe right now." The armor-clad woman reported nervously.
• Skylar was shocked to hear that. His demeanor was a stark contrast to how confident he looked just moments ago. He said, "What? A date? Was she forced? Take me to the cafe right now!"
• "Your ride is waiting for you at the exit, sir."
• After that, Dianne Zander took a quick glance at the group before nervously asking Skylar, "Sir, I'll dismiss them and send them home now. So, is the welcome party later tonight canceled then?"
• "Come on now, you've been with me for three years. Have you not understood me yet?"
• Skylar frowned before entering the jeep that was parked by the exit.
• Dianne turned to the group and said, "You are all dismissed. Just head back home now."
• "I told you that our boss isn't a fan of meaningless ceremonies."
• "Sorry about that." A middle-aged man apologized.
• Meanwhile in a private room of a cafe half an hour later.
• Yvonne was dressed stunningly and was having quite the decent conversation with a young man sitting in front of her.
• The man was called Harry Chase and was the heir of the second most affluent family in Cloudtopia.
• In all honesty, Yvonne had shown interest in him before this. However, since she was a nobody, Harry was not interested in her until something incredibly strange happened the day before.
• Apparently, a four-star general showed up at Yvonne's house abruptly and handed two invitations to Yvonne. It was an invitation to the retirement ceremony of the god of war himself.
• Those simple invites had stirred up quite the commotion in the entire city.
• Yvonne's grandfather was so emotional that he was in a puddle of tears while exclaiming, "Oh, the heavens have smiled upon my family. The heavens have given me the blessings of the great Commander!"
• Every single member of the Sue family could not wait to butter up to their new guest.
• Harry was no exception as he was trying to butter up to Yvonne then.
• Yvonne on the other hand was clearly enjoying herself at the moment.
• However, Yvonne's cousin, Yulia Sue seemed very disinterested in the whole ordeal.
• "Say, Yulia, why don't you share your thoughts about the Commander's retirement ceremony as well?" Yvonne said.
• "I have no comments." Yulia shook her head.
• She would be lying if she said that she was not jealous about her cousin being invited to the Commander's retirement ceremony. It seemed that even someone as proud as her would be jealous of Yvonne to be invited to meet someone as powerful as the Commander himself.
• However, meeting the Commander herself would be nothing more than a distant and unreachable dream to someone as insignificant as Yulia.
• Suddenly, the door was pushed open just as Yulia was about to say something as Skylar stormed into the room abruptly.
