Chapter 4 Optimistic Future?

• "All right then, let's go!" Skylar exclaimed confidently.
• Since he knew that she was his own biological daughter, he refused to believe that they shared nothing in common.
• As soon as they entered her car, Yulia said while she drove, "You know, I'd always tell my sweet Lola that her father was deployed to a really far place and could only return after he has accomplished something awesome. Since you share quite the experience as him, you can tell her that when you see her later."
• Hearing this warmed Skylar's heart.
• It turned out that Yulia had already accepted Skylar even though she refused to admit it.
• Skylar was paying close attention to Yulia when she told him some of Lola's hobbies.
• When they arrived at her preschool, Yulia told Skylar to wait outside while she picked Lola up.
• After five minutes, Yulia led a little girl who was dressed in a similar yellow dress as her out to meet Skylar.
• The little girl had slightly curly hair and looked like a radiant little angel. Seeing her stunned Skylar.
• That's my daughter! My very own biological daughter!
• It seemed that Skylar felt even more guilty as he stared at them. He knew that Yulia must have suffered a lot in the last five years.
• If he never did what he did that night or mistook someone else for her, with Yulia's beauty alone, she would have never been bullied by her family then.
• He felt that although he did his duty by defending the Northern borders, he had wronged Yulia and her daughter. A rush of heavy emotions washed over Skylar as he teared up.
• Meanwhile, Lola was also staring at Skylar. However, as soon as their eyes met, they somehow felt connected.
• "Is he my daddy, mommy?" Lola asked Yulia.
• So, Yulia carried her in her arms before approaching Skylar as she said, "Yeah, he's your father, Lola."
• "Lola!" Skylar exclaimed emotionally as he opened his arms toward Lola.
• However, Lola who was just moments ago in a cheerful mood, cautiously hugged Yulia's neck as she said, "My teacher told me that there are plenty of bad people out there. How could you prove that you're my dad?"
• Um…
• Hearing this made Skylar burst out laughing as he wondered about just what happened to being connected to his own daughter.
• "Hey Lola, he really is your father. He has just returned from a very faraway land…" Yulia explained to Lola.
• "But he isn't wearing his uniform, nor is he as handsome as the men I see on T.V…." The little girl argued while pouting her lips. It seemed that Skylar was not the kind of father she imagined him to be.
• Oh wow… Skylar was speechless when she said that.
• He wondered just how his comrades up in the Northern borders would react if they found out that his daughter said that he was not as handsome as the regular soldiers she saw on T.V.
• "All right then. Why don't I ask you two questions. If you can answer me correctly, then I will believe that you are my daddy!" Lola explained.
• "All right then, ask away."
• "What is my favorite color?"
• "Yellow!" Skylar replied immediately.
• However, hearing this rendered Yulia speechless. That was because she had told Skylar that Lola's favorite color was blue while they were in the car earlier. Just because they were wearing matching color clothes did not mean that Lola's favorite color was yellow. She was baffled by how serious Skylar looked only to answer the first question wrongly. So, she knew that he had been boasting about everything since the beginning.
• Gosh, what a liar! He's a huge liar!
• Skylar felt nervous when he noticed Yulia's expression. However, before he could say anything, Lola asked, "What is my favorite cake then?"
• "Strawberry?" Skylar answered after pondering about it for a brief moment.
• Yulia was even more speechless when he said that.
• She had explicitly told Skylar that Lola was different from other kids and that her favorite cake was Matcha. So, she was wondering what Skylar was thinking to get all the questions wrong.
• "Say, Lola… Could you give me another chance?" Skylar pleaded with a sad look.
• "Fine… All right then. So, who's my favorite Justice Squad character?" Lola asked.
• Wow… Skylar was completely speechless.
• It seemed that Yulia had not told him anything about that. Moreover, he had no idea what the Justice Squad even was. It would be impossible for him to even name a character that Lola liked.
• However, this was the last chance Lola was willing to give him, so he wondered if he was truly done for.
• "Is Justice Squad a Hollywood movie?" Skylar was trying to get Yulia to help him.
• "Skylar, you…" Yulia was completely baffled by Skylar's response.
• She could understand if Skylar told her that he did not know any characters from Justice Squad. However, she was baffled when he asked a four year old child if it was a Hollywood movie… This made her wonder if he did that on purpose.
• However, before she could vent, Lola burst out laughing as she said, "Oh gosh, how could you be so dumb, daddy! Justice Squad is my favorite cartoon."

• This was the first time he met his four year old daughter and yet he was already made fun of by her. So, he felt that he had hit rock bottom from his career of being the Dragon Commander…
• No, wait… What did Lola call me earlier?
• "Daddy, you really are my daddy. Carry me, daddy!"
• Suddenly, Lola let go of Yulia's neck, leaned over and opened up her arms toward Skylar.
• So, without even having the time to hesitate, he embraced her.
• He teared up as soon as he felt the little girl's body.
• He felt that in that very moment, any titles he held were not even a fraction as important as the little girl in his arms. He understood that from that very moment on, he had an heir that was biologically related to him forever.
• Meanwhile, Yulia was completely stunned when she noticed how close the duo seemed at the moment.
• "Hey Lola, how could you call him your father when he didn't even answer a single question correctly?" Yulia asked as she found the whole situation odd.
• However, Lola laid on top of Skylar's shoulder and said, "I noticed that daddy loved winking like me… so I decided that he's going to be my daddy…"
• Yulia was completely speechless by her reply.
• If you loved the way Skylar blinks then why did you even ask him all of that earlier? Gosh, I can't believe that I was nervous for nothing, but since she's a four year old child, she tends to get easily distracted.
• So, Skylar carried Lola and gave Yulia a cheeky glance.
• However, he clearly knew that the reason why Lola even felt connected to him was not as simple as a couple winks.
• Upon closer inspection, it seemed that Lola's eyes resembled his a lot. Her resemblance was a result of sharing his dominant genes, but Yulia just never thought about it.
• Upon seeing his smug look, Yulia glared at him and thought Oh please, you don't have to be so smug about it. You're just lucky. I should really remind him to remember everything Lola says later. Gosh, I can't believe everything was improvised and I was nervous for nothing. If Lola knew how everything went, she would've been crushed!
• Meanwhile in a private room in Moonlight Club.
• It turned out that the eldest son of the Wexler family, Nicholas Wexler had invited Madam Sue and her eldest son, Charles Sue for a meet up.
• The duo were the most powerful people of the Sue family.
• "Thank you for allowing me to have Yulia's hand in marriage, Madam Sue, Mr. Charles," Nicholas said in a friendly tone.
• "Oh, you're far too kind now, Nicholas! We should be the ones to thank you for not caring about Yulia's past." Charles replied with a huge smile.
• "When will Yulia get here then?" Nicholas could barely contain himself when he thought about Yulia's body.
• "Don't worry, I've told her about it this morning. I'm pretty sure she's picking Lola up and should be here in a bit." Madam Sue chuckled.
• Nicholas nodded and suddenly asked Charled, "Say, Mr. Charles, was it true that Yvonne was invited to attend the Dragon Commander's retirement ceremony?"
• "Indeed! I'll be attending the event with her then. Oh, I am honored to witness the Dragon Commander's grandeur." Charles looked proud when he said that.
• "The truth is, our family was able to pull some strings to be invited to the event. So, your family won't be the only one to gain a huge boost in reputation then." Nicholas explained with a smug tone.
• "What? Your family is invited too?" Both Charles and Madam Sue gasped in awe as Nicholas nodded.
• "Oh, my grandson-in-law sure is awesome! Yulia sure is lucky to be able to marry you." Madam Sue sounded excited when she said that.
• It almost seemed like both their families had already succeeded gloriously.
• Hearing this made Nicholas laugh as he said, "Oh grandma, our families' future will be bright!"
• However, just as Charles was about to talk about their family's future, someone stormed into their room. The intruder turned out to be Yvonne as she exclaimed, "Gosh dammit. Dad, grandma, I'm so furious at the slut, Yulia!"
