- Aldith's grip on Ellie's wrist was firm, almost suffocating, as if she feared Ellie might run off at any moment. Ellie tried not to tense up too much, but the uncertainty churned her stomach. She had no idea where they were going, only that the path seemed endless. Her heart pounded with an irregular rhythm, and though questions crowded her mind, something in Aldith’s posture told her she wouldn’t be getting any answers.
