Chapter 47 – Challenged

• As soon as I felt the warm air outside, I couldn’t help but turn back, trying to figure out what was going on behind me. But then my mother came up and gently led me to the big tree Dad and I had planted in the backyard.
• There are four of the same tree in total—one for each of their children—but Mom and Dad decided to place their date-night bench in front of mine, because, as Mom always says, I’m their favorite.
