• Even after all the chaos that just happened, I can see her thinking about my proposal. Bonnie walks over to her friends, who had stepped aside when they noticed things were about to get heated, and are now at the bar. As she walks away, I keep watching her, and the corrosive feeling in my chest makes me sigh when I see her being hugged by one of the men.
• I call over one of the nightclub’s security guards, who comes and stands in front of me.
