• I dropped the book I was reading back on the table. What Thane had said yesterday refused to leave my mind. I couldn't possibly believe that they weren't my parents.
• For as long as I remembered, I had always been with them. After Thane's bombshell, I wanted to go see them and ask them about it but he refused. Rather, they would be coming here today so I could find out the truth.
• Right now, I wondered if I really wanted to find out the truth, if my heart could take it. What if they really weren't my parents? Who are my real parents. Did they want me?
