Chapter 4 New Boss

• CHAPTER 4: NEW BOSS
• *FOUR YEARS LATER*
• SHANBRI POV
• I just got home from work. I got into a company here in Sta. Luna, a small province in California.
• It's just a small town and far from the city, but it's already developed so there are already a few companies located here. Mom grew up here before she met dad and settled in the city.
• It's been four years since I left the city and came out here.
• It's been four years since what happened to Kenj and me that night.
• It's been four years since I left him and we don't really have a formal closure.
• Maybe we won't see each other again because he is far away. Maybe he is already married and has a child. He must be happy with his own family now.
• "Mommy!" called my daughter.
• Yes, I have a child, they are actually twins. Girl and Boy. I got pregnant after what happened between me and Kenj that night.
• I admit that I haven't moved on from him until now. Some guys wanted to court me and say they are ready to be the father of my children but I don't entertain them.
• Maybe that's why I can't forget Kenj because it's like I see him every day because of my children.
• They look just like him. They also got his gray eyes. They only have white skin that they inherited from me because Kenj is tanned. But apart from that, they inherited everything from their father.
• Maybe when he saw the children he would think they were his own because of their appearance.
• But that day should never come because I don't want to destroy his family. He is already happy and my children and I are happy too even though they don't have a father.
• It is inevitable that children will ask questions about their father especially as they grow up.
• I just make excuses to them and sometimes I just change the subject when I can't answer anymore.
• Brianna ran towards me and I immediately picked her up and filled her cheek with a kiss.
• His twin brother Yaji was behind her and I also carried him. My son has a cold personality and is just quiet. He inherited his father's character.
• "How are my babies? Have you been behaving earlier? You gave your grandfather and grandmother a headache, didn't you?" I asked the two.
• I was with my parents who travelled from Sta. Luna. They have retired from their jobs as public teachers.
• When they found out that I was pregnant, they didn't blame me, but they even helped me to take care of my children.
• "Yes, mommy, I'm behaving," Bri's small voice said. I giggled at her with her cuteness.
• "Tch. She's not, mom. She's too noisy," Yaj complained to his twin sister.
• I laughed at what he said. This kid is really like his father, always annoyed.
• Bri immediately appealed, "It's not true, Yaj!" she protested.
• "Yes, you are." Yaj simply answered with finality.
• "That's enough, didn't I say that you should not fight? Here I have something for the both of you." I took them down and gave them what I bought.
• "Wow! Donuts, my favorite! Thanks mommy!" Bri was excited and kissed me on the cheek. She immediately bit the donut.
• I just laughed at what she said. Yaj just quietly ate his donut.
• I left the kids alone and put my things on the sofa.
• I saw mom preparing dinner. While my dad washes the vegetables.
• I approached them and paid respect.
• "Mom, dad, I'm going to the room first and I'm going to rest for a while," I simply said.
• "Alright, I'll just call you when dinner is ready," mom answered.
• Dad just nodded at me. I went to the room and entered it.
• I immediately threw myself on the bed.
• I'm very tired from work because I've been going home late for a few days because I'm saving up for the twins' studies.
• They want to go to daycare because they are always bullied at home and they don't play with other little children here because others tease them because of their eye color.
• So they don't want to play with other children anymore and only the two siblings play here at home.
• I couldn't stop closing my eyes. I'm sleepy. I kept my eyes closed.
• Maybe I'll sleep for a while.
• ___
• I woke up to a kiss on my cheek. When I opened my eyes, Bri appeared to me.
• "Good morning mommy! Wake up. You didn't eat last night so eat now," my daughter said softly.
• Bri is a really sweet and bubbly kid. She is talkative so her twin brother is always annoyed with her.
• I saw Yaj by my side and hugged my waist.
• I smiled. Even though Yaj is cold, he is clingy to me.
• "Okay babies. Mommy will wake up now. Just wait for me outside," I answered them and headed to the bathroom to do my morning rituals.

• "Mommy will go to work. Behave, don't be naughty," I said goodbye to my children.
• "Yes mommy!" they responded together and kissed me on the cheek one by one. I said goodbye to my parents.
• "Mom, dad, I'm leaving, you guys will take care of the kids." I said.
• "Alright, be careful." they simply replied.

• I have arrived at the company. I put my things down on my table and started working.
• I am currently working on a report and I overheard what another employee was talking about.
• "It turns out that our company has been sold to a rich man from the city. The owner is new and he will come here tomorrow for an inspection," said Miss Helga to Faye as the others listened to her.
• There was a curiosity in my mind. Whoever the new owner is, I hope he's nice and kind.
• "I heard that our new boss is very handsome," Miss Helga excitedly added to her story.
• "Really? I'm excited for tomorrow. Do you know his name?" Faye asked.
• "I don't know his full name yet, but all I know is that his last name is Villamor," answered Miss Helga.
• I immediately looked at them. What? Villamor? Did I hear right?
• Immediately my heart beat fast at my thought.
• There is only one Villamor that I know who is from the city.
• No, maybe he is someone else. He is not the only Villamor in the world.
• I convinced myself but I was actually nervous.
• Could he be my new boss?
