Chapter 10 The Jealous Storm

  • The rain hadn’t stopped all night. It crashed against the tall windows of Lucas’s penthouse like the city itself mourned for her. Elena sat on the couch, her wet hair clinging to her pale cheeks. She wore one of Lucas’s shirts, oversized, soft, smelling faintly of cedar and warmth,everything her husband’s mansion lacked.
  • Lucas set a cup of hot tea in front of her. “You shouldn’t go back there,” he said quietly. “He doesn’t deserve you, Elena.”
  • His voice carried that familiar blend of tenderness and anger. It made something in her chest ache. She stared down at the steaming tea. “You don’t understand,” she murmured. “It’s not just about me. My family’s debt and Adrian. Everything is tied to Damian.”
