Chapter 60

• I gave him a minute and when I heard nothing else I walked out of my hiding spot and went to the home office. I knocked lightly on the door that was now open. I looked around at the mess on the floor. He threw the phone in his hand at me but it hit the wall.
• “GET OUT!” he roared angrily at me. For the first time I was scared and I quickly walked out of the house almost bumping into Frankie who was walking up the stairs. She stared angrily at me but didn’t say anything and once again she locked the door as she entered the house.
• I went back to my spot but the mood in the garden was heavy and word had spread around that I was responsible for the drama so I was getting dark looks. I asked for a glass of wine that I was given. I decided I had played my part and it was time to go home so I walked down the driveway and headed to my car except that in the distance near the gate I saw two people.I decided to throw one more shot at them so I walked right up to them.
