Chapter 1 He Was No Longer My Future Fiancé!
- One day before my Pairing Ceremony, I caught the man I had secretly loved for years, the man I had intended to choose as my future fiancé, being intimate with his maid on the bed.
- They kissed passionately, their breaths mingling as moans and an unpleasant scent filled the air, making nausea rise in my throat.
- Trembling and tearful, I questioned Elias coldly and loudly, only for him to turn around without a trace of concern. He pulled Lyra tightly into his arms, covering their bodies with the blanket, then looked at me with a cold smile.
- “Freya, you’ve seen it for yourself. This is for the best.”
- He clicked his tongue.
- “I don’t love you. The only person I love is Lyra.”
- He stared directly into my eyes, emphasizing every word.
- “Using your status to force me to marry you can only bind my body, not my heart.”
- Then, he calmly stood up, turned his back to me, and put on his clothes before adding,
- “Besides, I only slept with Lyra so she could serve you better in the future, isn’t that right? You should be thanking Lyra instead.”
- His shameless words left me speechless, and my eyes suddenly burned with tears. In the end, all the words I wanted to say remained trapped in my throat.
- “Lady Freya..."
- Quickly wrapping the blanket around herself as she stood up, Lyra also had tears covering her face. She knelt down and clung to my hands.
- “Please don’t be angry with Lord Elias, it’s all my fault. I love him too much, so I couldn’t stop myself from seducing him..."
- She cried pitifully, but when our eyes met, a smug smile appeared at the corner of her lips.
- “So what if you are the noble Princess of Olympus, the daughter of Zeus and Hera? You’re still only worthy of a man I’ve already slept with!”
- Leaning closer, Lyra whispered in a voice only the two of us could hear, no longer showing any trace of the fear or weakness she had displayed moments ago.
- She giggled and covered her mouth.
- “Your beloved man was just kneeling between my legs, begging me to sleep with him..."
- Slap.
- Unable to hold back any longer, I angrily raised my hand and slapped Lyra hard across her shameless face.
- In return, I received a stinging slap from Elias.
- “Enough, Freya. Your cruelty makes me sick!”
- Hatred surged in his eyes as his face twisted with anger, his words coming through gritted teeth.
- “How dare you treat Lyra like that? Didn’t she already kneel down and apologize? What more do you want?”
- He questioned me coldly, his words becoming increasingly outrageous.
- “Just because you’re the Princess of Olympus, do you think that gives you the right to look down on others?”
- He helped Lyra to her feet and held her tightly in his arms as though she were a precious treasure, a cold smile curling across Elias’s lips.
- “Watch your attitude! If you don’t beg her for forgiveness today, I won’t show up at your Pairing Ceremony tomorrow!”
- With those words, Elias kicked the door open and carried Lyra away. Lyra lifted her head to look at me, smiling sweetly as though she were the victor.
- I calmly wiped the blood from the corner of my lips, my heart gradually turning cold.
- He won’t show up? Fine. He doesn’t have to.
- Because just moments ago, I had already decided that he was no longer my future fiancé.
- Turning around, I stepped onto the golden chariot and returned to my parents’ palace.
- I knocked on the door, then looked up and smiled at my dad, Lord Zeus.
- “Dad, I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to marry Elias anymore. He is nothing but a bastard!”
- Amid his astonishment, I added.
- “Instead, I want to marry..."
