- Rachel stood looking at the door.
- “He’ll look after him, Rach.” Cora said quietly from the couch.
- She turned. “Oh, I know. You should have seen him today. I don’t think Ricky realized he’d taken blood. Seeing him at work was quite moving in some ways.” She dropped down on to the chair. “I hope he’s wrong, Cora, just this one time I hope he’s wrong.”
