Chapter 18

• Steven was just placing the last strip over Cora’s side when Justin, holding a shaking Gwen came through the door. Gwen cried out and went over to her. “Oh, what has he done to you?” She looked down where Steven was cleaning and tears ran down her face.
• Cora reached up and took her hand. “I’ll be fine, Gwen. It’s just a scratch.” Gwen nodded and leaned down to kiss her before going over to look at Dade’s wounds.
• Dade took her hand. “I’m sorry Gwen, I hesitated over Cora and I lost him in the trees.”
