Chapter 8 Cheating Bastard

• This movie is crazy, just thirty minutes into it and I've cried my eyes out, I want to stop watching but I can't. My eyes are glued to the screen, I just can't stop watching.
• The movie finally came to an end, my eyes were completely red and swollen. "Why did you decide to watch such a movie?" Ruth was in the same condition as me.
• "Because I heard people talking about it, I wanted to see if it was a nice movie. Now I know." She stood up and went to the kitchen, she came back a few seconds later with two glasses of water.
• We watched a lot of movies, and we laughed and cried, it's moments like this that I cherish the most when I'm with her. "It's getting late, I think I should start heading home."
• "Awww but I still want you here," she pouted, I giggled, she looked cute.
• "I don't want to leave either but I have to." I pulled out my phone and texted Derick. "I still have like thirty minutes or more before my ride gets here, let's make the most of it."
• We used that thirty minutes to play a game, and when Derick arrived, I had to leave. I kissed her on the cheek and told her bye.
• Derick's POV
• I sat in the car outside Ruth's house, I kept drifting back to the scene where I helped Abby with her seatbelt. I don't know if I was dreaming but I felt like she was leaning in, it felt like she wanted to kiss me. She was flushed, it'd be nice if she felt the same way but I think I'm reading meaning into it, Abby has a boyfriend and she loves him and I don't think she is someone who would fall in love with her brother.
• She knocked on the car window jolting me from my thoughts, I opened the car door for her, peeped outside, and saw Ruth standing outside, I waved at her and she waved back.
• "How was your day?" I asked, she smiled indicating that her day was okay. "Your eyes are swollen, why?" I had to ask, it looked like she had cried.
• "Ruth made me watch a very sorrowful movie, it was good but quite sorrowful." She replied adjusting her seatbelt. All I did was nod my head before hitting the road.
• Ruth fell asleep in the car, I took time staring at her sleeping face, she looked peaceful, innocent, and cute. My heart started racing, and my eyes landed on her lips, they were alluring, and I got tempted to taste her lips. I took in deep breaths and a bit on my bottom lip to stay focused.
• She was still asleep when we arrived home, I had to carry her to her bed and tug her in. I went to my room to take a very cold bath, I needed it to cool down this feeling, I didn't want to do something that'd make Abby lose her trust in me.
• I stripped myself naked and entered the bathroom, I had a really cold bath.
• The weekend went by quickly, we both went back to work, and we didn't see each other often just like before.
• I had a business meeting with one of my investors, my PA and I just arrived at our destination. I was about to go to the table I booked but something caught my attention, I saw Alex sitting with a blonde girl, they were having lunch.
• I'd have said they were siblings or somehow related but they were being handsy and not in the relative way. This jerk is cheating on Abby, she is being faithful to someone who doesn't deserve her.
• My table was next to his, I think he noticed that I was staring at me because he raised his head and looked at me, and then looked away. He doesn't know me as Abby's brother because she has never introduced us, it's a good thing she has never because he'd probably figure out that he has been caught in 3D.
• "Mr Jones, sorry for coming late." I heard the voice of the person I'm here for, I stood up and stretched my hand for a handshake.
• "It's no problem, at least you are here and that's what matters." He shook hands with me and we both sat down.
• My PA fished out her notepad from her back, and the meeting started. I was having trouble paying attention because my eyes were focused on the table next to mine.
• Alex signaled the waiter, his bill was brought to him, and he paid. They both stood up to leave, he coiled his hand around the Lady's waist and they left. I could feel my blood boil, how dare he do that to Abby? She deserves better.
• "Mr Jones?" I heard my name, I found my PA, and my investor was staring at me.
• "I'm sorry, what were you saying?" I asked.
• "I was asking about the upcoming project, how is it coming up?"
• I told him about the upcoming project, and he analyzed the information I provided and nodded his head.
• "This looks good to me." He said all I did was hummed. The meeting came to an end, we shook hands again and left.
• "Boss is everything okay? You look stressed and off during the meeting." My PA asked with a concerned laced voice.
• "I'm fine, let's head back to the office."
• On our way back to the office, I kept deliberating if I should tell Abby about what I saw, that'd break her heart and I don't want that and I don't want to be the bearer of bad news. I don't think she'll believe me too because she is head over heels for him. Maybe I should let her find out about him by herself.
• I'm sorry Abby, Sorry that you had to give your heart out to someone who isn't worthy of it and I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you from him....
