Chapter 3

  • Leticia spoke with deep gratitude, "If you hadn’t been Luna, no one would have done anything for us Omegas. No one would have cared whether we lived or died. I never knew Omegas could be warriors and healers."
  • These positions had always been held by Betas and those of higher rank. Before Mia came into their lives, Leticia had only been allowed to fetch water for laundry and chop firewood. "Without you, I never would have been able to wear a white coat and become a healer. Luna Mia, you gave me hope in life."
  • Mia smiled. In her old pack, Omegas—especially female Omegas—weren't just baby-making machines; they could be trained to become the warriors closest to Alpha Domenik.
  • "Leticia, would you like to be my little one's godmother and give him a name? Because without you, he wouldn’t have made it into this world."
  • "Lady Mia, may I name him David?"
  • "Of course."
  • As they spoke, the television in the room suddenly turned on. Mia’s gaze was drawn to the large screen, where she saw her husband, her newborn son crying… and standing beside them was her… sister?
  • "Let’s celebrate the birth of the little prince and the new Lady Luna, Miriam Ferrer!"
  • Mia’s fists were clenched. So, this was it—Alpha Domenik had found a woman identical to her sister, and that was why he had abandoned her! What the hell was going on? That woman’s face, even her name… How could she be exactly like her dead sister?
  • Leticia noticed Mia’s tear-filled eyes and tried to calm her.
  • "My Luna Mia, please don’t cry. You just gave birth, and you need to rest."
  • Mia now felt the full weight of despair. How could Alpha Domenik do something like this? How could his obsession with her sister go this far? That woman’s gaze was not her sister’s!
  • "How could that woman look exactly like my sister… even be called by her name?!"
  • Leticia immediately knelt before her and said, "Lady Mia, you don’t know… Six months ago, Alpha Domenik posted notices everywhere, searching for a wolf of witch’s blood to be recruited as the High Priest. He said it was for an important mission, and everyone knew about it."
  • This woman was involved somehow.
  • Mia had just become pregnant when Alpha Domenik stripped her of all power to help govern, claiming she needed to settle down and stop working. She had thought he was doing it for her own good, so she had stayed away from managing the pack for several months.
  • Mia’s mind raced through the events of her pregnancy. Alpha Domenik was such a hypocrite—on one hand, he told her she had to give up all her work for the sake of their pup, yet on the other, he was having affairs with other women behind her back. Thinking about it, Mia’s eyes welled up with tears.
  • But she had no courage to fight him. She had no right to expel this new replacement. The pack depended on him, her eldest son was in his hands, and he wanted nothing to do with her. There was no reason for her to stay here any longer.
  • "I'm going to get out of here, and I’ll take my little son with me, Leti. The sooner, the better."
  • "My Luna, please, trust me. If you don’t mind, I will escort you out of the castle tonight, but you’ll have to leave the city on your own. I’ll call my brother, and he will meet you on the outskirts with a car. By tomorrow, you and your little prince must leave our land because if Alpha Domenik finds out about this, he will take him away from you too."
  • Just before dawn, with only minutes before the sun rises, Mia gathers the strength she needs to escape the fate that awaits her if she stays in a place where she is despised—where people whisper behind her back that she is a weak princess, simply because she has never awakened her inner wolf.
  • Just as Leticia had promised, her brother helped by giving her a ride to a certain point, but if they were discovered, he might be beheaded for betraying his King.
  • Mia, being noble and kindhearted, would never forget Leticia’s help. As she continues her way, she feels dizzy—she gave birth just recently, and her strength has been drained. Yet, she keeps walking with no clear direction.
  • Her baby won’t stop crying, and as a first-time mother, she struggles to figure out how to soothe him.
  • She walks for hours toward the west, her steps slowing with exhaustion, her baby still wailing. She is thirsty and hungry, desperate to rest, but she cannot stop until she finds a safe place.
  • The infamous Rogue Alpha, Liam of Blackmoon—the only prince exiled by his father, the Alpha King of Blackmoon—hides alone in the tall grass near the border as he prepares to mark his attack zone. Today, he feels distracted and restless because his inner wolf is desperately urging him to head west.
  • The reason Liam is in this area is because his older brother, the Crown Prince Alpha—Alpha Lenny—framed him seven years ago.
  • Lenny set a trap for Liam, leading their father, in a fit of rage, to brutally exile him without allowing him to explain himself. Back then, Liam was still an Alpha Prince, excelling in his role, but Lenny had always envied him.
  • Even their beloved grandmother, Matriarch Deborah, tried to intervene in the Alpha King's decision, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. In the end, she severed ties with her son, the King.
  • Since then, Alpha Liam has built his own kingdom, where his warrior wolf pack consists of other exiles. He has worked tirelessly, earning the respect and admiration of his people.
  • Seven years have passed, and Liam has transformed from an ignorant eighteen-year-old prince into a Rogue Alpha King at twenty-five, seasoned with a wealth of experience. No one truly knows what he has endured.
  • "Liam, change direction. Head west immediately," his inner wolf, Federi, suddenly commanded.
  • "I'm not turning back. Western territory isn’t suitable for my warriors to stage an ambush."
  • "Something is happening. Listen, Liam, go back there!"
  • "Don't distract me, Federi. There's a better spot for my people in the further east."
  • "Damn it! You're so stubborn for someone so young! Turn back! She—our mate—is in the west! She needs our help! Hurry!"
  • Alpha Liam reluctantly headed west, obeying his inner wolf. This was different from his original plan—he had intended to take advantage of today's solstice, when the moon was at its smallest. This was also the time when all wolves were at their weakest, which meant he couldn't afford to lower his guard.
  • Slowly, he noticed the scent around him changing. The aroma of verbena, lemon, and cinnamon gradually reached his nose. His wolf, Federi, hadn't lied. He felt his heartbeat quicken and his body temperature rise. His mate was waiting for him.
  • But then, the rising cries of a pup echoed through the western grasslands, forcing him to stay alert. Liam had fallen into an enemy trap before, and if his weakness was exploited again… No! He had already paid the price for his recklessness seven years ago. Now that he was the King of the Rogues, he couldn't afford to take those risks.
  • He did his best to suppress Federi’s instincts in his heart and remained on guard. The child's cries grew closer and closer, and yet, he couldn't stop himself from remembering his own birth. His mother, who had not been his father’s Luna, died giving birth to him. It was his grandmother, Deborah, who had held him in her arms. Regardless of his father’s status, he was an illegitimate son—but his grandmother had given him everything a prince should have.
  • "Help! Please, help us!"
  • A weak, feminine voice called out to his wolf, Federi.
  • When Alpha Liam pushed aside the bushes, he saw a woman lying in the grass, her golden hair spread around her. Her pale face was filled with determination, but her emerald eyes seemed to shine, as if some unseen force were guiding Liam to touch her.
  • "She’s so beautiful… Touch her! She is our Luna!"
  • A powerful urge surged through him, pushing Liam to bond with the stunning young woman before him, both mentally and physically. He wanted her as his queen, his Luna—the woman he would place by his side once his empire was built. The mother of his future children. Even though he didn't know her name yet, Liam Blackmoon understood that his inner wolf had been right to lead him here. This was the she-wolf destined for him. A deep excitement flooded his body, unlike anything he had ever felt before.
  • "My son… David… I'm sorry… You would have been like your brother… You will be a prince… You must survive… You will…"
  • Mia thought she was dying, whispering her final words to her son. But something strange was happening.
  • A warm energy suddenly awakened inside her, and she thought she saw a pink wolf entering her body.
  • At that moment, the bushes rustled, sending her heart racing. She wanted to run, but her body was too weak.
  • "Who… Who’s there?" she asked in a trembling voice, clutching her child tighter.
