Chapter 1

  • In the Bluemoon pack, the delivery room is filled with tension as a woman's agonized screams echo through the space.
  • "It hurts! It hurts! Ahhh!" the she-wolf cries out, large drops of sweat mixed with tears soaking the pillow beneath her head. A pool of bright red blood spreads beneath Luna Mia’s legs.
  • She clutches the sheets tightly, her body trembling with the force of each contraction. More than anything, she wishes the father of her child were there to support her.
  • "Luna Mia… please! Hold on just a little longer. I can see the prince’s head!"
  • Since the Luna of the Bluemoon pack is giving birth, the hallway outside the delivery room has been cleared. The Beta of Alpha Bluemoon stands guard at the door, waiting anxiously for the newborn’s cries. Inside, only the Omega midwife, Letizia, remains by Mia’s side, encouraging her to push.
  • "Letizia, it hurts, it hurts so much!" Mia complains, her face reflecting both desperation and the agony of childbirth.
  • The heavy scent of blood fills the room, forcing the Beta outside to cover his nose.
  • Mia stretches her trembling hands toward the ceiling, seeking strength, hoping someone will take her hand. But her mate, her Alpha, never will because Alpha does not love her. He never has, and he never will. She is not his destined mate.
  • Mia has always been alone since she took on her role as Luna, yet she continues to face her pain with courage.
  • Then, the room fills with the melody of her newborn’s cries, and for a moment, she forgets her suffering. As she gazes at her tiny pup, tears of joy spill down her cheeks.
  • But her radiant smile vanishes the moment the Beta steps inside.
  • "The heir has been born!" he announces bluntly.
  • "Has my Alpha Domenik come? Please, give me my pup," Mia pleads, stretching her arms to receive him. Omega Letizia carefully wraps the baby in a blanket, preparing to hand him over, but the Beta intervenes.
  • "Leave!" he orders Letizia with cold determination. The midwife, intimidated, quickly hands over the newborn and scurries out.
  • "He’s beautiful..." Mia whispers, bringing her baby close to her face, pressing her cheek gently against his. But in an instant, her child is ripped away from her arms.
  • "Princess Mia of the Redmoon pack, in Alpha’s orders, this pup will not be yours."
  • "What?!" she gasps, a sharp pain coursing through her abdomen.
  • A terrible premonition settles over her—something awful is about to happen.
  • "Your status as substitute Luna has been revoked," the Beta continues, watching her stunned reaction.
  • Mia is left speechless. Her Alpha, Domenik, is breaking his alliance with the Redmoon pack—her father’s pack.
  • "He can’t do this to me!" Mia cries out, feeling the spark of joy, her son had brought her crumbling to dust.
  • "He already has," Beta replies with finality. "I must go."
  • "Please, don’t take him!" she screams in anguish as her baby is stolen from her arms.
  • "My son!! Ahhhhh!" The pain in her abdomen intensifies, sweat breaking out on her forehead once more.
  • The pup, sensing the absence of his mother’s scent, immediately began to cry. The Beta sighed and quickened his pace, fully obeying Alpha’s orders, even though he knew how cruel it was to separate a mother from her child. His former Luna, Mia, did not deserve such treatment. After all, she had been a competent Luna during the three years she held the position.
  • Mia couldn’t believe what had just happened.
  • She had always thought that the alliance between Redmoon and Bluemoon would remain unbreakable, even if she was not their official Luna.
  • Everyone knew that Alpha Domenik, leader of the Bluemoon pack, had been in love with her father’s eldest daughter, Myriam of Redmoon, since childhood—his fated mate.
  • And her father’s second daughter, Mia of Redmoon, had always envied her sister’s love and the affection of her future brother-in-law.
  • Mia had watched Alpha Domenik be gentle with Myriam since they were young. She had been drawn to him the moment she first saw him, but she never imagined she could steal him from her sister. Instead, she buried that love deep in her heart for years.
  • If her sister hadn’t accidentally fallen from a fatal height and died before the wedding, Mia’s fate wouldn’t be as absurd as it was now.
  • Her father had made her life absurd by stripping her of her freedom, marrying her off to her sister Myriam’s fiancé, as if her destiny as a princess was to become her late sister’s replacement.
  • But it had all been a contract that Alpha Domenik signed with Mia’s father—one no one had bothered to explain to her.
  • Even though she became the substitute Luna for her former brother-in-law, she tried to find happiness, but her sorrow was far greater. The grief of losing Myriam, the person who had loved her the most, weighed on her, but what tormented her even more was knowing that her husband would never love her as he had loved her sister.
  • She kept hoping that after becoming Luna, Alpha Domenik would eventually soften, that her constant devotion would make him care for her.
  • Unfortunately, her fears had come true. She had spent two years as Luna in name only. And it wasn’t until the anniversary of her sister’s death that Domenik, drunk, had stumbled into her bed and taken her for the first time—whispering Myriam’s name the entire time.
  • But after that night, it became clear he regretted it. He never returned to her room late at night again.
  • And soon after, she found out she was pregnant.
  • Leticia, the Omega midwife, heard Mia’s desperate pleas and hurried back to the room, finding her in distress and looking worse by the second.
  • Mia felt another sharp pain in her abdomen, something that didn’t seem right. The baby had already been born—so why was she still in pain?
  • "It hurts… I feel like I need to push!"
  • "Stay calm, please don’t scream," Leticia urged as she moved closer to assist Mia. But then, Alpha Domenik entered the room impeccable as always. His gaze toward Mia was unbearably cold, showing not even the slightest concern for her condition.
  • "Beta took my son! Give me an explanation!" she growled through clenched teeth, her jaw tightening as the pain came in relentless waves.
  • "You will obey my orders," Domenik commanded. "So, listen carefully, because I won’t repeat myself."
