Chapter 9 He Hurt Me

• Gideon and Kara returned home from work, both looking exhausted. Kara headed straight to the kitchen to prepare dinner, while Gideon made his way upstairs to check on Haley.
• “Hey, baby,” he called, knocking gently on her door. Haley sluggishly rose from her bed, dragging her feet as she made her way to the door, still absorbed in her conversation with Sandra.
