Chapter 7
- A sharp pain courses through me when my eyelids flicker open. My hand holds my temple and I sit upright. My eyes scan through the unfamiliar room. I’m in a bedroom, and hanging mighty on the ceiling over me is the unclothed picture of Alpha Arkon.
- My eyes widen in great shock at the sight of it.
- I’m in his room, and the only thing that explains how I got here is the fact that the lunatic brought me here. He must have hit me hard from behind. The little pain I’m feeling in my neck makes it evident.
- But then….
- I swallow hard as my eyes slowly move up, taking a second look at the image, and they find all the crazy details on his body. He has such nice and perfect abs, and the long powerful Japanese dragon tattoo on his body leaves my mouth hanging.
- I’ve never seen anything like it.
- I must confess, Alpha Arkon is hot and he’s blessed by the Goddess between his thighs. Can’t even imagine how many ladies have walked in here, and seen this hanging over them. This is sexually hypnotizing.
- My teeth bite my lower lip as my eyes are transfixed on the image, but just then, my head shakes hard, calling me back to reality. I can’t fall for him. He's an enemy. A ruthless Alpha who builds his empire on the blood and sweat of others. He’s greedy, just like his father who did what he did to my mother, and cut her life short that fateful day.
- “He looks hot and irresistible, right?” A lady utters when I hear the door open.
- I tear my eyes away from the image, and send it in her direction. She looks elegant in her silver cocktail dress. Her makeup and straight hair are perfectly done. She towers above me at 5’8. Her curves are set at the right places, and her skin, flawless. Staring at her, I can’t help but curse a little at the Goddess for being partial. The Goddess sure has her favorites.
- “Well, I don’t know,” my shoulders shrug.
- “Alpha Arkon is a center of attraction for every she-wolves across the globe. Call me Freya,” she moves toward the mini-bar and pulls out a bottle of whiskey. Serve two glasses and hand one to me. “I’m Alpha Arkon’s sister,” she utters.
- “Hmmn,” my lips press in a thin line as my throat tightens.
- “I’m still in shock that he finally found you. His fated mate,” she whiffs in amusement before gulping her drink.
- A little sigh breaks out of my lips as I roll my eyes. I’m not his fated Mate and will never be. That’s what I want to say to her but hold it back in my head. She’s the sister of Alpha Arkon and this is his pack and home. I dare not speak to him in a rude tongue or I will face worse consequences than being kidnapped by him.
- “You don’t look bad,” her eyes scrutinize me. “My brother is lucky. But that ring around your finger…”
- “What ring?” My fingers fly to my front and I lightly gasp. I’d forgotten I had a ring on. Anxiously swelling hard, “The ring…”
- “It’s nothing. Married women also fall for him, and you’re his fated mate. Wasn't expecting you to resist him even if you were married to another.”
- Why does she keep bragging about her brother? I know he’s handsome, but not every woman, or probably every woman wants him. But I don’t.
- “Your name?” She asks.
- “Huh?”
- “What’s your name?”
- “Ahemm!! Vynessa,” I softly respond.
- “Let’s be friends, Vynessa,” she stretches her hand for a handshake, and I return the gesture. Strangely, she is nicer than her brother and might not be as ruthless as him.
- We break off the handshake, and just when she makes to walk away, her feet stop mid-way. “A little advice for you, Vynessa. Don’t fall for my brother. Run as fast as you can and make sure he never catches you. If you need help, I'm always here to help,” she says without glancing at me. After which, she walks away from the room.
- Her words ring in my head like a bell as I pace back and forth in the room. She wants to help me flee from her brother. That’s strange. If Alpha Arkon’s sister wants me to flee from him, then he must be more terrible than I can imagine.
- But then, how will she help me carry out this task? I’ve heard so much about the Rogues. They’re so powerful that none can flee from them. So how? Maybe she has her ways and I shouldn't beat myself over it.
- Rather, I have to be grateful for this, and use my opportunity wisely.
- My fingers grip my hair as I come to a conclusion - I will seek her help even though it feels risky to me. Vance is already pacing in my head and I can tell she’s against it. But there isn't a best way out of this.
- We either ask for help and flee to the South or get stuck here and face terrible things. These are our only options.
- Just when I make to chase after Freya, the door opens once again and Alpha Arkon walks in. My feet dart backward as he takes more steps closer. “How long have you been awake?” He asks.
- “Not long?” I swallow hard.
- Dear Goddess, why do I suddenly feel this great fear running through my veins. What’s it with Alpha Arkon this moment that makes me feel creepy around him?
- Vance wiggles her tail at the sight of him, and I can feel her instantly craving for her mate. Aside from the fear crawling in me, Vance also makes a sense of adrenaline wash over me. My body is a mix of emotions - fear and pleasure. And I have no idea which will finally take full control.
- “You don’t look like it,” he softly uttered, and his eyes falls on the alcohol in my hand. “Do you love drinking?”
- “No. No…. I mean,” I clear my throat, and drop the glass on a table. “I don’t drink alcohol.” Lies from me. Alcohol is one of my best friends in my time of misery but then, I just deny a friend right now.
- He moves even closer and I try to pull backward when I feel my back knees touch the bed. There isn't any space for me to run to.
- Alpha Arkon stops right in front of me, his eyes gazing over me. He reaches for my left hand, gently caressing each of my fingers, and pauses right at my ring finger. “Tomorrow is our mating night, and we both will be in an intense heat period. I’ve always had it with other ladies, but tomorrow will be our first time having it together as fated mates,” he takes off my ring and throws it away.
- He continues. “It’s gonna be intense because of our bond, and trust me, I won’t let you go until I’ve thrust harder and deeper just the way I’m craving right now,” he whispers and my throat drags.
- Alpha Arkon lets go of me. His hands fix in his pockets. “Sorry, you'll have to spend your first night in my pack alone. But get ready for the mating night. Food and clothes are available for you. Fix yourself,” and with that, he amble away from the room.
- I stand stun for a long time, before jerking my body back to reality. The mating night of an Alpha is very important to him, and I can’t imagine what I will face in the arms of my enemy.
- Disgust, fear and hatred fills my stomach and without trying to have a second thought about any decision, I rush out of the house in search of Freya.
- I need her help.
