Chapter 5

• “Lucy.”
• I knotted my tie neatly beneath my chin.
• It was the official first day of school. At 5:30 in the morning, the morning bell went off. But had been awake throughout the night so while Aaliyah was catching some extra minutes of sleep, I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take my bath. By the time Aaliyah had finished in the bathroom, I was already dressed up in my uniform, all I had to do was knot my tie and I was all set to go.
