Chapter 2

  • Anya was reluctant to leave the hospital, she wants to look at the baby, but it was already taken away from her. She wanted to keep waiting at the hospital but when she looked at the time and saw that her husband was almost home, she gave up and left.
  • She spent three days at the hospital, yet she didn’t even have a single glimpse of the baby. The benefactor had also stopped contacting her after she gave birth.
  • She went in the taxi as she recalled the happenings of the past month. Her husband’s company was suddenly given a boost of funds, thus making their comeback. They took back their hold of the industry and once again became one of the leading conglomerates of the country. But due to this, it also led to her husband’s business trip cut short, and he returned eight months later, just before Anya gave birth. The company was prospering, but Anya’s marriage had a drastic turn.
  • Anya arrived home. She got out of the taxi and paid. She hurriedly went inside and saw her husband with a dark face.
  • “You still had the gall to return home?” He said coldly. His voice was harsh and sharp, like the first time he discovered her pregnancy. This had been the normal occurrence in her marriage since that day. She tried her best to explain, but her husband turned a deaf ear to her pleas and gave her the cold shoulder.
  • “Where is your bastard child, huh?” He added with acid dripping down her voice.
  • “Husband-“
  • “Shut up! On second thought, I’d rather not hear your filthy excuses,” He said as he stood up from the sofa and made his way out.
  • “Andrei!” Anya tried to follow, but the door slammed shut in her face. She cupped her face as she cried, sliding down against the cold floor.
  • …………………………………………………………………….
  • It was a month later, and Andrei didn’t come home. She heard he was staying at his family’s place. Today was his grandmother’s birthday, and Anya was planning to visit to greet his grandmother and also to see Andrei.
  • She picked a gift on the way and went to the Davis estate. When she arrived, she held the gifts in her hands nervously as she gulped down, trying to gulp her anxiety away as well. She knocked, and a maid opened the door for her. There was a slight hesitance on the maid’s face, but she still let Anya in. When she got inside, she was led to the living room where Andrei’s grandmother was. She saw the strict face of the elder and became even more nervous. But she braced herself and greeted.
  • “Grandmother, it’s Anya, Happy Birthday,” She greeted softly and approached her.
  • The previously smiling old madame lost her grin as she saw an eyesore in her home. She scoffed,
  • “What a thick face to show yourself here?” She asked, just as coldly as her grandson. Anya already expected this, so she just smiled and placed her gift on the table.
  • Grandma saw this and stood up.
  • “I should’ve known you were a disgusting bitch, to think my grandson was married to you?” She mocked Anya.
  • “Grandma, let me explain-“
  • “Don’t you call me grandmother, you bitch! I don’t have a granddaughter as filthy as you!” Grandma interfered harshly.
  • Anya bit her lips as she buried her face down.
  • “I will never accept a woman who was impregnated by a nameless man into my family. You adulterer!” She continued to accuse as she pointed her fingers at Anya.
  • “Grandma, calm down, it’s useless using your energy on useless people,” Suddenly a graceful and delicate voice sounded. Her voice was soft, a great contrast to the rough message her words carried.
  • “Oh, Monica, I just can’t take the preposterousness of this woman. Good thing you’re here for my Andrei. You would surely be a better wife than this filthy woman,” Grandma suddenly dropped a big bomb.
  • When Anya heard this, it felt like a piercing in her ears.
  • “Grandmother, what do you mean?” Anya paled as her voice trembled in asking.
  • “What could I mean otherwise? This woman here will be Andrei’s new bride, Monica.” The old madame said with words like stabbing in Anya’s heart.
  • “No, Andrei wouldn’t,” Anya’s words came out as a whisper as she shook her head with tears blurring her eyes.
  • “And why wouldn’t he? Do you think my grandson would like to be with a woman like you?”
  • Anya couldn’t take the harshness anymore as she dashed out of that place. She ran as she cried, finally stopping at the sidewalk as she calmed and dried her tears.
  • No, I believe in my husband. He wouldn’t do this to me. Our marriage wouldn’t be thrown just like that.
  • As she was coaxing herself, her phone rang inside her purse. She pulled it out and saw her husband’s name. Her eyes brightened up as she quickly accepted the call.
  • “Husband!” She greeted happily.
  • “Where are you?” The deep voice on the other line asked.
  • Anya wanted to say she was in his grandma’s house, she wanted to complain about how she bullied her and wanted to know if her grandma’s words were true. But she bit her lips and suppressed.
  • “N-nothing. Just strolling around,” She said as she watched the soles of her toes, gripping her phone tightly.
  • “Buy a bracelet in Cartier, I want the best one. Then bring it to Amorous hotel.”
  • Hope blossomed in Anya’s heart as she heard her husband’s words. She thought her husband wanted to give her this bracelet and had a surprise in the hotel. Her heart started to beat once again. She knew it. Her husband loves her. He wouldn’t throw her away.
  • Because of her joy, she responded to her husband with much enthusiasm. But Andrei merely hung up the phone. Never mind, her husband might be busy right now. What’s important is his words. She needs to buy a bracelet right now and reunite with her husband. She rushed to the most luxurious brand of jewelry and chose the bracelet exquisitely. She took a long time and roamed her eyes on the sparkling jewelry, a bracelet caught her eyes.
  • It was a transparent crystal with red color inside. When you look at it, it looks like a rose and also looks like a heart. She liked it so much that she chose it right away.
  • When she was paying and heard the price, she suddenly remembered her husband didn’t give her money. She looked at the remaining balance on her card and saw that it barely reached the amount of her bracelet. But she was so happy that she still bought it regardless. After that, she happily went to Amorous hotel, her heart and expectation were high.
  • She took out her phone to call her husband, but she saw a message indicating the room number his in. She took the elevator and went to the designated room number. On the way, she called him, but no one answered. Oh well, she was already here, might as well just meet him there.
  • When she arrived, her happiness and heartbeat doubled as she knocked happily. Yet, after three tries, no one answered.
  • “Husband? I’m here,” She called as she continued to knock. She tried to twist the doorknob, and it was open. She chuckled.
  • What kind of surprise is this, perhaps?
  • She thought as she pushed open the door. But to her horror, what she first heard was the rough gasps and coquettish moans inside the room. Clothes were scattered on the floor and the room was filled with an ambiguous smell.
  • She was about to look at the room number to check, thinking she had gone to the wrong room, when a flirty voice and moan called,
  • “Andrei,”
  • Anya stiffened as she turned around and looked at the two wantonly people humping on the bed.
  • And she thought her eyes were deceiving her because she saw her husband, Andrei, having sex with the female pop star, Ellona Marie.
