Chapter 6

  • Henry's POV
  • After taking the last bite of pancake, I stood up and walked towards Hannah who was sitting down on the sofa. "Are you watching a TV program?" I asked.
  • She nodded and winked at me. "They're playing my favourite movie right now and I just had to watch." She answered with a low chuckle.
  • I grumbled and sat down. "It seems like a boring movie. What genre?"
  • "Erotic Romance."
  • My eyes widened and I immediately looked behind me to see if Kelly was there, I didn't want her to watch such movies.
  • "Why would you watch such a crazy movie when you know I have a daughter in this house?" I asked.
  • "You don't have to be worried, I made sure she was sleeping before I decided to watch this movie." She assured me.
  • I was not having that! What if Kelly had bumped into her watching an erotic scene?
  • "Please, let today be the last time you would watch an erotic romance film in my house."
  • She frowned, her face took on a sad expression. "But I love watching these movies and....."
  • Her voice trailed off when I shot her an offended look. "Kelly's just five years old, she's just a child. She could have walked into the parlor and found you watching an erotic movie."
  • Hannah switched off the TV and placed the remote on the table. "You should learn to have fun sometimes." She suggested.
  • I scoffed. "I don't want to have fun," I paused and waited for a few seconds before I continued. "Why didn't you go to bring Kelly from school?"
  • She shrugged and stammered. "I was scared.... because of the gunshots and protest, I didn't want anything bad to happen to me."
  • I chuckled softly and pretended I didn't hear that. "Alright then." I murmured.
  • "You should quit being a Mafia Boss, your job is too dangerous and I don't want anything bad for you." She advised me.
  • One of my ragged eyebrows kicked up a notch. "Last time I checked, I wasn't complaining." I scowled.
  • She drew a deep breath and stood up. "You should be careful," she replied and disappeared up the stairs. "Of everyone!" She shouted as soon as she reached the stairs.
  • "Argghhh, fool."
  • Jayda's POV
  • After having a good cry by that roadside, I stopped a taxi and got in. The driver started the engine and drove straight to the latest bar in town which was considered to be the most expensive bar in New York.
  • One could say it was specially made for wealthy and classic people. I couldn't remember the last time I had been to the club but I just wanted to get drunk.
  • Club 201 was the best place to forget about my sorrows but that was if I would ever forget. I was just so unlucky.
  • I wasn't even bothered if I had stains of dried tears on my face, I walked into the bar, head high and a slight smirk on my face which made me look alright although I was dying inside.
  • My main intention was to become drunk and forget about everything, I could actually meet someone who could take away my pain.
  • Sitting on the stool, I ordered the bartender to mix all the strong drinks he had for me. I was ready to have fun and lose my mind, the real intention was to be drunk and I meant it.
  • I wasn't the kind of person who loved alcohol but I needed it badly in this situation. "Are you sure you want to drink all this?" He inquired and I looked at him with annoyance.
  • He couldn't possibly understand what I was going through. He couldn't! "I'll be alright, just do it and besides I have a lot of cash to pay." I assured him with a fake smile on my face.
  • I was having a terrible look on my face when I noticed a man staring at me in a seductive manner. He was with a lady already and I wasn't ready to be a third party.
  • After taking the first shot, I could swear everything would be okay and I would find my car but I wished it was that easy. "Someone's having a bad day?" A lady said and made herself comfortable on the stool near me.
  • Ignoring her, I took the second shot and recognized her to be the lady with the man earlier. "He's your boyfriend, huh?" I asked her.
  • She chuckled softly and paid for the drinks I took. "No, he's actually my elder brother and also a billionaire."
  • "Name?" I inquired quickly.
  • "Nick Rodrigo." She answered with a smirk.
  • Ohhh wonderful! Nick Rodrigo was a billionaire but no one even knew that he had a company. No one even knows his source of income. "A drug dealer?" I asked her with a slight tone of mockery in my voice.
  • "The rumors aren't true." She defended him with a smile that didn't look genuine.
  • "How aren't they true? It's not like I know his organization."
  • She stood up, seriousness in her eyes and expression. "He wants to have a one night stand with you."
  • I choked on my drink and spat out the rest. No, she was joking right.
  • "I'm not interested and you shouldn't prank someone like this."
  • She shook her head and cleared her throat. "It's not a prank, it's real. He wanted you." She said.
  • "Look, I'm not interested. Not everyone is in the bar to have sex or something." I told her and she walked away in annoyance.
  • "Nick doesn't like rejection," The bartender whispered to me and I ignored him. When he saw that I didn't reply, he continued. "Everyone knows him as a regular VIP customer who visits this bar regularly."
  • I looked in Nick's direction and saw him clench his teeth as soon as his sister went to meet him. She must have possibly told him what transpired between the both of us. He picked up his bottle of beer and made his way towards me.
  • "Who made you cry?" He asked with a very concerned face.
  • "Are you the rising star of a psyc....." I stopped halfway in my insult as soon as I saw a clearer view of his face. His beautiful blue eyes seemed to have an effect on me that made me silent.
  • "Who made you cry?" He asked again.
  • "I lost my car." I answered.
  • He exchanged an uneasy glance with his sister before looking at me. "Your car was stolen?"
  • "Yeah," I nodded.
  • "It should be shipped out of New York in the next two weeks if it's not yet found. Let's just say you have less than a week to find your car." He replied.
  • I was totally confused, how did he seem to know about everything? "How did you.....
  • "
  • He interrupted. "My dad's car had been stolen by jobless youths before and I definitely understand how it works." He explained gently and I nodded.
  • "Yeah, I guess so. Thanks for paying for my drink." I thanked his sister and took another shot.
  • "You'll get drunk," he murmured with a concerned attitude as he took the glass from me and handed it to the bartender.
  • "Why do you care anyway?" I asked him with a frustrated sigh.
  • He cleared his throat and sat down on another stool. "I'm willing to help you." His sister suddenly said from behind him.
  • "Help me do what?" I asked her.
  • "Your car, I'm willing to help you find your car." She explained and I stood up immediately with a huge smile on my face.
  • I would be so excited if I could find my car. "But how?" I asked.
  • She handed me a paper and I stared at it, it contained a house address. "He's a Mafia leader and he can help you find your car."
  • I shrieked with fear as soon as she told me he was a Mafia leader. "He can't bite." She mocked as soon as she noticed fear in my eyes.
  • I nodded and thanked her. "How can we meet again?" Nick asked me.
  • "If fate permits us to meet again, I'll love that. My name's Jayda Rogers." I answered and left hurriedly.
