Chapter 42

• Luke’s eyes turned into slits after she spoke. His face became red when it seemed like he finally understood what she said. While looking at him angrily, she jutted her chin to show him that she meant every word. He was breathing in gasps and his nostrils were flaring. With a clenched jaw, he took money in his pocket then tossed it on the table.
• “You don’t want me anymore? F*cking shit!!” he cursed which startled her.
• She looked at the other couple next to their table they seemed to have been surprised too. They were looking at them curiously. Luke stood up and got her arm. He was almost dragging her into the car while she was angrily protesting all the way. But it appeared that he was caught up with his own furious thoughts because he didn’t seem to hear her. When he pushed her inside the car, she glared at him before sulking on her seat. Now she realized that what she said at the cafe were the magic words. She finally got his attention. It was better that he was mad at her than totally ignoring her. She cringed when he furiously got in the vehicle. She wanted to say something but his expression stopped her. He looked ready to blow up so chose to be quiet. They would talk at home which was the best place.
