Chapter 40
- I returned to the waiting room after going to repark my car just as the security guy requested. I was so tired, but I couldn't leave Sonia in the hospital just like that. What will she say if she wakes up and finds out that I wasn't with her, or that I left her all alone with strangers, it doesn't make sense, right.
- I sat down on the chair, impatiently waiting for any of the nurse to come out. Why was it taking so much time in there? Isn't it supposed to be a few minutes something and they are done? I wondered. Then, I got scared that her condition might have become critical due to the delay during the traffic jam I experienced earlier on my way here.
- I thought about Eddy, my husband. By now, he might have been waiting for me, wondering what might be taking me so much time. I knew I couldn't leave the hospital, that means I can't be home either. So, the whole idea was just to call Eddy and inform him, just to avoid some funny questioning from him, of which I wasn't ready for. So, I took my phone from my purse and dialed my husband's number. It rang at first, but he didn't pick up. He finally did pick up on the third ring. I guessed immediately that he was pissed off already.
