Chapter 5 Not Really Related 2

  • Not Really Related 2
  • [ARIA]
  • It had been three days since my mother and Nathaniel went on their honeymoon, and things have been uneventful. Jace and I had been pretty much ignoring one another, and we didn't as much as say “good morning” whenever we crossed paths in the hallway. I had done my best to avoid him, but I could always feel him glaring at the back of my head anytime I was close to him.
  • I was taking a shower when suddenly, one of the doors that led to the bathroom was pushed open, and I came face-to-face with Jace. I froze, my brain not fully registering what was going on. Jace stood in the doorway, blinking slowly as his eyes travelled down my body, and my heart rate increased. It felt like time stopped as I looked back at him and realized he was also naked, and I could see his dick dangling between his legs.
  • We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity, too shocked to move. My nipples hardened as he looked at me, and his dick stiffened under my gaze. I let out a small gasp as I saw how big it was.
  • “Oh shit,” I heard Jace murmur, and that was when I snapped back to my senses and realized what had just happened.
  • My hands instinctively flew to my chest to shield my breasts from his eyes as I shouted, “What the fuck are you doing? Get out!”
  • His eyes widened as he seemed to come back to his senses, and he ran out of the bathroom, banging the door loudly behind him. I didn’t miss the small smile on his face as he left.
  • Oh shit. What the hell just happened? My step-brother just saw me naked, and I saw him naked, too. The image of how big his dick was replayed in my head, and I closed my eyes as I remembered the veins and the curve. The way it stood erect as he looked at my body. I could feel my pussy throb at the image, and I was about to tug at my nipple when I stopped myself.
  • “No, no, no. I shouldn't be doing this,” I murmured, resting my head on the bathroom wall as the water came down on my body. “He's my step-brother. I should not be thinking of him like this. It's wrong. It's very wrong,” I continued to mumble as I hit my head on the wall.
  • Fuck. How the hell was I going to face him?
  • I turned off the shower with a groan and walked out of the bathroom. I dressed up in a blue crop top and a pair of jean shorts because of how hot it was, and I headed to the kitchen to prepare my breakfast.
  • I searched the cabinets and refrigerator to find some ingredients to make a simple meal, and I ended up finding some eggs, raw bacon, and a loaf of bread. I nodded in satisfaction as I looked at the ingredients spread out in front of me. It was enough to make bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I washed my hands and immediately got to work.
  • A few minutes into my preparation, I heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen, and I froze momentarily because I knew it was going to be none other than Jace, and I didn't know how I was going to face him after what happened in the bathroom. I looked around in panic as I tried to think of where I could hide, but there was no such place. All I could do was stand, my hands frozen mid-air as I heard him enter the kitchen.
  • The footfalls stopped, and a minute of silence passed, but I didn't hear him say anything. My heart thumped faster in my chest as I wondered if he was still in the kitchen or if he had left. He should have left if I wasn't hearing anything right? There was no harm in turning back to check if he was there or not, right? I couldn't afford to stand still without doing anything because I was starving, and I had to eat.
  • With a deep breath, I slowly turned around, hoping and praying that he wasn't going to be in the kitchen, but I was proven wrong. My eyes widened as they met Jace's blue ones, a loud gasp leaving my mouth as the knife in my hand fell and clattered on the tiled floor. I jumped back as the knife nearly hit my leg.
  • Jace was staring right back at me, but his gaze immediately went down to my leg when he saw the way I jumped. He ran straight to me, his eyes locked on my leg as he bent to pick up the knife.
  • “Are you okay? Why did you drop the knife like that?” he asked, a look of concern on his face as he dropped the knife into the sink.
  • “I'm... I'm...ok...ay,” I stuttered as I looked away from him when he gazed at me. How could he be talking to me so causally like we didn't just see each other's naked body some minutes ago? Was I the only one overthinking this?
  • “Right... Of course, you are,” he murmured under his breath, but I heard him clearly.
  • An awkward silence passed between us as we stood in the kitchen with neither of us saying anything. He seemed to be as nervous as I was because he was staring down at the floor, scratching his neck.
  • Jace cleared his throat, and that prompted me to look at him. “Erm... What are you making?” he asked in an unsure voice, and that was when I remembered I was even cooking in the first place.
  • I found it hard to answer his question, and I slowly turned back around and looked at the ingredients so I could remember. “I'm... I'm making bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich,” I responded.
  • “Can you make for two? That's if you don't mind...” he trailed off, and I could detect the hint of hesitation in his voice as he said that. I could understand why he was hesitant, though. Ever since our parents left, we sorted out our meal by ourselves, so we had no reason to talk to each other, so this was also surprising for me.
  • “Um...yes. I can make for two,” I responded slowly, and he smiled at me. My heart skipped a beat when I saw how beautiful his smile was.
  • “Thank you! I'll be in my room,” he said as he turned to leave the kitchen, but he paused to look at me, his gaze travelling down my body and stopping on my face. “By the way, you have a sexy body,” he added with a grin before leaving the kitchen.
  • What the fuck? Did he really just say what I heard him say?
  • “No,” I mumbled as I shook my head and got back to prepping the ingredients. “He never said that. I must just be so hungry that my brain is malfunctioning and I'm hearing things.” I nodded to myself.
  • Twenty minutes passed, and I was finally done making the sandwiches. I served the food and dropped mine in my room before heading to Jace's room with his food. I stopped in front of the door, trying to steady my racing heart.
  • “I can do this,” I whispered to myself. “Seeing someone naked is not a big deal, and there is no reason to make a huge deal out of him saying I have a sexy body. I've heard it multiple times.”
  • Right as I placed my hand on the doorknob and was about to twist it, the door opened from the inside, and I stumbled forward. A hand shot out to grab my waist to steady me. Sparks travelled up my spine as I felt Jace's warm hand on my bare waist, and I realized my face was resting on his unclad chest.
  • My cheeks flamed up in embarrassment as I saw that my left hand was on his abs, while he was holding up my right hand to steady the food I was holding.
  • “Watch where you're going, princess. We wouldn't want you falling now, would we?”
