• Cedric hesitated, then said, “She keeps to her estate most of the time, but she also frequents a private club in the capital—The Raven’s Roost. If you wish to approach her, that would be your best chance.”
• Anya returned to the palace with Cedric’s information, her thoughts racing. She met with Seraphina and Alaric in the war chamber, relaying everything she had learned.
• “Evelyn Thorne,” Seraphina murmured, tapping a finger on the table. “The name fits. She’s been quiet for years, too quiet. It wouldn’t surprise me if she’s the Shadow Regent’s second-in-command—or perhaps even the Regent herself.”
