Chapter 6
- "You look great, Miss Miya," said one of the boutique employees who had just fastened the last button of the soft pink dress worn by the blonde-haired girl.
- "Thanks." That was all Miya could manage to say. Her reflection in the mirror showed her what she needed to know. Her blonde hair was styled beautifully, with a slight choppiness at the ends. One side of her hair was pinned up with a ribbon-shaped clip. She's also wearing pearl earrings that are like the necklace she's wearing. Her white skin just makes Miya look even more beautiful.
- Miya was ready for a change of pace, so she turned around. She looked at the man who had been waiting for her, changing clothes and getting ready with the help of some skilled hands. He made her shabby appearance change in just a fairly short period of time. Miya was never surprised by his appearance. She was used to things like this. Even a collection from this boutique brand occupies a small space in her wardrobe. The craftsmanship is arguably luxurious, and it's all in the simple look.
- "I've got everything covered, Mr. Victor." Miya said as they drew closer.
- Victor looked up from his phone. He was checking out Miya's look, whether he liked it or not. "You look like a doll."
- Miya didn't push back. Not yet. She felt like everything that happened in her life was happening really quickly. As if it didn't give her a moment's pause. On top of that, she still remembered what was in the secret contract. The contract is basically terrible for Miya to live with.
- Is there any way out of this situation? Should she ask her aunt and uncle for help? She didn't even remember having them as relatives because Miya was rarely invited to gather with her family. It wasn't that she didn't want to wait for Tessa's help, but one thing Miya had been thinking about all the way to her college—more precisely, to Victor Wyatt's room. The impact of the Lodge family on Tessa's family. Tessa came from a middle-class background. Her father was an official in one of the government agencies that managed the country's finances. While her mother owns a well-known restaurant, it has branches in several places in NorthDerm.
- The Lodge family had more power than Tessa's family. When you look at it in comparison to the Miya family, they were pretty much on a par. But the bankruptcy that the Miya family experienced really threw them for a loop.
- "Mr. Sawyer is waiting for you. Ready to go?"
- "If I say I'm not ready, can I be sent home?"
- Victor let out a little chuckle at Miya's answer. "You know, you're not acting like yourself."
- Miya's brow furrowed deeply in thought. "What do you mean, Mr. Victor?"
- "You're very chatty and noisy. I've never been one to pay much attention to what others have to say. But now?" Victor stood up from his seat and moved next to Miya.
- "You're at a disadvantage."
- Miya's hands were clenched. "It's not that I'm helpless. I'm just tired of facing this day."
- Victor still felt captive. He led the way out of the boutique area, which looked deserted. It seemed like no one had stopped by this place. On purpose. Victor and Miya wanted to get in and get out of the office without any interruptions. Money can make things go away, and as it happens, the money used wasn't Victor's either. So he feels free to spend it. If Damian gets angry, the dark-brown man can just say, "Do you want people to see me with Miya?"
- "Let's get going. We've still got a long way to go." Victor was standing not far from his metallic blue sports car.
- Miya just nodded and walked ahead, looking closely, you'd never know it to see Victor walking around Hillarious' campus, he didn't seem like the right person to run it. It would be more appropriate if the man became one of the teachers. But that was always going to be the case, ever since Miya first started at the campus. It was a relaxed time, with plenty of fun activities and a focus on studying.
- Victor drove the car at a steady pace, heading in the opposite direction from the city center. "We're heading to Shibuya. There's a Damian mansion there that's pretty much off-limits. You'll be living there for the duration of the contract, and then it'll all be yours again when it ends."
- Miya nodded again. She didn't want to say much because she still couldn't get her head around it. The contents of the contract bothered her a lot, but she didn't get the chance to ask.
- The blonde-haired girl is aware of the details of the contract she recently signed.
- HEGEIME VERTRAG.
- Made with both parties' approval. The contract is designed to ensure that both parties benefit without one party being at a disadvantage.
- Damian Sawyer is the first party.
- Miya Ashton is the second party.
- - The second party agrees to have a baby with the first party without getting married.
- - During the contract period, the second party is prohibited from having any contact with outsiders and is not allowed to meet with relatives or family.
- - During the contract period, the second party can't have any contact with anyone outside of the agreement. They also can't meet with relatives or family.
- - All the needs and interests of the second party are the responsibility of the first party.
- - The first party is willing to fulfill the second party's wishes during the pregnancy.
- - The second party agrees not to make any public announcements about the child that will be born.
- - Payment of this contract is 100% due to the second party upon expiration of the contract.
- - When the contract is up, each party will act like they never knew the other.
- The parties below are considered to have agreed to the contract.
- Damian Sawyer is the first party.
- Miya Ashton is the second party.
- Victor Wyatt is here as a witness.
- For Miya, the contract was a double-edged sword. It was a bad deal, but it also held a certain allure. After approximately one year, which was the longest period of the contract, Miya would be free to resume her normal life. Her good name would be restored immediately, so there was no need to wait around for anyone to take care of it. Miya understood who Damian Sawyer was in this country.
- When she first got her head around the details of the contract, Miya's face went pale, and she started sweating. After reading the contract, she felt her tongue was a bit loose and her heart was a bit uncomfortable.
- "Have you had a chance to look it over?" Victor asked, still leaning back casually in his chair. Miya looked up from the contract at Victor's question. Miya met Victor's gaze, her eyes reflecting a mix of excitement and doubt.
- "I don't want to force you into anything." Victor held out a pen. "But you do understand one thing, don't you?" The man leaned in a little towards Miya, who was still sitting stiffly in front of him. "Just how ruthlessly the inkers, or reporters, change the flow of the news? And the Lodge family didn't just let you go?"
- "Why me?" she asked quietly. She averted her gaze from Victor whenever possible. The man looked even more intimidating than he did when she was given a month-long suspension. "And what about my studies if I get involved in this contract?"
- "Mr. Sawyer was kind enough to help you, Miya. And about the lecture, who did you forget you were dealing with?"
- Miya felt like an idiot.
- "I was just going over a few points about this contract," Victor said, shifting in his seat. He moved closer to Miya in a slow, deliberate manner. On purpose. He wanted to make a big impression on the girl in front of him so that she'd think more about this contract. When Victor was standing behind Miya's chair, he put his hand on her shoulder lightly. "Damian needs you to help him start a family. He's keeping an eye on the girl who'll be pregnant with his child. It's as simple as Mr. Sawyer's wishes."
- "This isn't just a simple wish, Mr. Victor." Miya clenched her jaw. "It also affects my future."
- "Your future wasn't exactly bright after the Ashton Group went bankrupt, was it?" Victor gave a little smile. "It's only right that Mr. Sawyer did this for you. And when you came into the room, you should have already figured out which contract you were going to sign. Right?"
- Miya swallowed nervously. All the things that had happened in a short period of time had made her lose her cool. She just couldn't handle it all. And that cold-looking, intimidating man was going to get Miya back to her normal state. Miya had met Damian Sawyer a few years ago. At a business event that her father often attends. Miya felt she had to go with her father, but she said she wouldn't if he got a second invitation.
- At the time, Damian Sawyer was seen with some of his business partners. He was sitting back in a chair that got a lot of attention, holding a wine glass, and looking at those around him with a bored look on his face. Miya and Damian Sawyer made eye contact by chance and instantly got the feeling that he was dangerous. She also had no idea where that thought came from. Maybe it was the feeling she had that made her cautious.
- But now, she was completely involved with that man. Is that guy still the same as he was before? Is he creepy? Miya was curious and moved her hand on purpose. "Where should I sign this?" she asked. Victor responded with a big smile.
- "Here, Miya."
- In her heart, Miya knew that if the demon could help her get out of this problem, she'd be happy to work with them. After all, they didn't know each other. All Damian needed was a child. Miya figured it wouldn't matter either way. That's what Miya thought after she'd signed her name where Victor had pointed on the contract sheet.
- "We'll be there soon, Miya. Do you still want to daydream?"
- Miya turned her head to look at the man, who was still serious with his hands on the steering wheel. All of her thoughts just vanished. Replaced with a long sigh and a gaze fixed on the road ahead. "I just found out that Shibuya has an area like this."
- "You really lost track of time and daydreamed the whole way there," Victor said with a chuckle. "The Shibuya you know is on the other side of this area. We've entered an area that's off-limits."
- Oh, right. Damian was trying to keep his relationship with Miya a secret.
- Not long after that, the car Victor was driving went through a high gate. A gate that hides the luxury inside. As Miya got a better look at the mansion, she could see that it had a modern classic style. One thing is clear: Damian Sawyer is a man who has it all. And especially wealth.
- When they arrived, they were greeted by several servants. Miya just followed Victor into a big room. The room was tastefully decorated with elegant colors and expensive furniture. This room looks amazing!
- "Mr. Sawyer will be here in 10 minutes. Get ready, Miya." Victor checked the clock on his left arm. "Alright, I think this is enough time for me to come with you. The rest of you, just stay out of trouble, Miya. Just a heads-up: Anything that belongs to you is still in Mr. Sawyer's hands. Behave and you'll soon be free of this." The man gave Miya a lewd look. He was just trying to keep the girl from tensing up.
- "Desi," Victor called out to one of the nearby staff members. "Starting today, please make sure Miya is comfortable during her stay here. Just make sure you fulfill whatever she needs, as long as it doesn't violate Damian's rules. You're responsible for always being by her side, Miya."
- "Yes, sir." The girl named Desi agreed with a firm voice. There was no hesitation at all. It also made Miya frown. Was she a pet to be watched over properly?
- Ah, Miya, Miya. Had she forgotten that she had given herself up as one of Damian Sawyer's pets?
